The Witch and The Gamer Attacking Food - Reliving Memories at Kilaimin Jumbo - Hiper Jumbo Mall ,Maracay [EN] // [ES]
One of the cuisines that my brother and I like the most is undoubtedly the Chinese, and in this country they have made some adaptations to fried rice that are definitely a bomb of flavors that make anyone fall in love, this week after leaving the doctor's office we went to the Hiper Jumbo Mall in the city of Maracay in order to have lunch (at 3: 00 pm) and as soon as we arrived at the food fair immediately and almost in unison we said "Chinese Food", we both remember our college years having lunch at this place, although we both studied at different times there was a Chinese food place that still remains, and although currently they do not have as much variety in their menu as a few years ago, it is still active and therefore we decided to try it again and see if it continued to be as good as before.
From the start, we realized that among all the locals that are active at the fair, Kilaimin Jumbo was the only one that had a line to buy, when we got to the site we realized that they also have really cheap prices for what was surely the line, this is by far one of the Chinese food places with the cheapest prices in all Maracay that we have visited. As I mentioned before, they do not have the same variety in their menu as years ago, although the truth is that the hunger we had did not give much importance to the variety. In this place you can find a plate of food for only 2.5 $, which is equivalent to combo number 1, or a portion of fried rice for 2 $ and the most expensive dish for a value of 3.5 $, these prices are equivalent to half the value or even less than what it costs a similar dish in another place of this type.
Both my brother and I decided to order combos of three contours, which has a value of 3.5 $, this means that in addition to the fried rice or noodles you can choose three different contours which translates into a more than succulent meal with which you will easily not want to eat anything else. My brother ordered noodles with sweet and sour chicken, beef with vegetables and spring rolls, I for my part could not pass up the fried rice with sweet and sour chicken which is one of my favorite things in life, besides that I ordered, grilled ribs and lumpias or spring rolls, additionally we wanted to order a third dish to take away, and in this we ordered the chicken with vegetables to taste its flavor and criticize as it should.
Even when it was 3:00 pm the food was hot and with good presence, something that we have noticed in other places of this style is that at that time the food is usually cold which subtracts many points to the taste and texture of it, the noodles, although they did not have many vegetables and even had no protein, were very well seasoned, plus the amount they serve is quite generous. The fried rice on the other hand, although it does not have shrimp, as it is sold separately, was very good, well seasoned and with a good amount of protein, the sweet and sour chicken is one of my favorites, I dare to say that whenever I go to this type of place it is an essential in my dish so to speak, in this case it was delicious, the tempura with a crunchy texture and well aerated, the sweet and sour sauce hot and delicious as it should be.
The chicken with vegetables I must admit it was more delicious than the sweet and sour chicken, perfectly seasoned, and very soft and juicy, likewise the meat with vegetables had a very good texture and flavor, the grilled rib I must say that at first I was a little disappointed because I saw it very thin, my surprise was that its bones were quite thin so it was basically meat what I was served, in addition to this its texture was perfect, soft and very well seasoned. The only complaint that both my brother and I had was about the lumpias or spring rolls, these were not quite hot inside, and they were not as well seasoned as the rest of the food, however, nothing that a good amount of sweet and sour sauce can't fix.
As for the drinks here you can find a good variety, both in sizes and flavors of sodas or soft drinks, as well as bottled natural juices, we opted for a good family size Pepsi, as to keep us for the rest of the afternoon hahaha, now, as for the waiting time to serve the order, these people are very clear about the term fast food hahaha, well basically we arrived at the place after waiting in line, we ordered and while we were paying we already had the food served, now you have to be clear that if you decide to order something that is not served at the counter you will usually have to wait about 10 to 15 minutes while they prepare it, which is a decent time for a decent fast and hot meal. The presentation of the food is typical of these fast food places, disposable plates as well as cutlery and glasses, although I must say that if they gave me bigger cutlery I would not complain, it is not something we pay much attention to in this opportunity, I must also note that if you go to this place and want to eat more than what they already offer you, maybe you should ask for the take away food, because it comes with much more quantity.

Una de las gastronomías que más nos gusta a mi hermano y a mí, sin duda es la china, y es que en este país han hecho algunas adaptaciones al arroz frito que definitivamente son una bomba de sabores que enamoran a cualquiera, esta semana al salir de la consulta médica nos dirigimos al centro comercial Hiper Jumbo Mall de la ciudad de Maracay con la finalidad de almorzar (a las 3:00 pm) y apenas llegamos a la feria de la comida de inmediato y casi al unísono dijimos "Comida China", ambos recordamos nuestros años de universidad almorzando en este sitio, aunque ambos estudiamos en épocas diferentes había un local de comida china que aun continua permaneciendo, y aunque actualmente no tienen tanta variedad en su menú como hace algunos años, continua activo y por ello decidimos probarlo nuevamente y ver si continuaba siendo tan bueno como antes.
De entrada, nos dimos cuenta que entre todos los locales que se encuentran activos en la feria, Kilaimin Jumbo era el único que tenía fila para comprar, al llegar al sitio nos dimos cuenta que además tienen unos precios realmente económicos por lo que seguramente era la fila, este es por mucho unos de los locales de comida china con los precios más económicos en toda Maracay que hemos visitado. Como lo mencione ya, no tienen la misma variedad en su menú como años atrás, aunque la verdad es que el hambre que teníamos no le daba mucha importancia a la variedad. En este lugar puedes encontrar un plato de comida por tan solo 2.5 $, que equivale al combo número 1, o una ración de arroz frito por 2 $ y el plato más costoso por un valor de 3,5$, estos precios equivalen a la mitad del valor o incluso menos de lo que cuesta un plato similar en otro local de este tipo.
Tanto mi hermano como yo, decidimos pedir combos de tres contornos, que tiene un valor de 3.5 $, esto quiere decir que además del arroz frito o los tallarines puedes elegir tres diferentes contornos lo que se traduce en una comida más que suculenta con la que fácilmente no querer comer más nada. Mi hermano pidió tallarines con pollo agridulce, carne con vegetales y rollos primavera, yo por mi parte no podía dejar pasar el arroz frito con pollo agridulce que es de mis cosas favoritas en la vida, además de eso pedí, costillas asadas y lumpias o rollos primavera, adicionalmente quisimos pedir un tercer plato para llevar, y en este pedimos el pollo con vegetales para poder probar su sabor y criticar como se debe.
Aun cuando eran las 3:00 pm la comida estaba caliente y con buena presencia, algo que hemos notado en otros locales de este estilo es que a esa hora la comida esta por lo general fría lo cual le resta muchos puntos al sabor y textura de la misma, los tallarines, aunque no tenían muchos vegetales e incluso no tenían ninguna proteína, estaban muy bien condimentados, además de que la cantidad que sirven es bastante generosa. El arroz frito por su parte, aunque no posee camarones, pues este lo venden separado, estaba muy bueno, bien condimentado y con buena cantidad de proteínas, el pollo agridulce es de mis favoritos, me atrevo a decir que siempre que voy a este tipo de locales es un esencial en mi platillo por así decirlo, en este caso estuvo delicioso, la tempura con una textura crujiente y bien aireada, la salsa agridulce caliente y deliciosa como debe ser.
El pollo con vegetales debo admitir que estaba más delicioso que el pollo agridulce, perfectamente condimentado, y muy suave y jugoso, de igual manera la carne con vegetales tenía una textura y sabor muy bueno, la costilla asada debo decir que de entrada me sentía un poco decepcionada pues la vi muy delgada, mi sorpresa fue que sus huesos eran bastante finitos por lo que básicamente era carne lo que me sirvieron, aunado a esto su textura era perfecta, suave y muy bien condimentada. La única queja que tenemos tanto mi hermano como yo fue por las lumpias o rollos primavera, estas no estaban del todo caliente por dentro, y no estaban tan bien condimentadas como el resto de la comida, sin embargo, nada que una buena cantidad de salsa agridulce no pueda solucionar.
En cuanto a las bebidas aquí puedes encontrar una buena variedad, tanto en tamaños como en sabores de sodas o refrescos gaseosos, así como también jugos naturales envasados, nosotros optamos por una buena Pepsi tamaño familiar, como para que nos quedara para el resto de la tarde jajaja, ahora bien, en cuanto al tiempo de espera para que sirvieran la orden, esta gente tiene bien claro el termino comida rápida jajaja, pues básicamente llegamos al sitio luego de hacer la fila, pedimos y mientras estábamos pagando ya teníamos la comida servida, ahora bien hay que tener claro que si decides pedir algo que no esté en el mostrador servido por lo general tendrás que esperar unos 10 a 15 minutos mientras lo preparan, lo cual es un tiempo decente para una comida rápida y caliente decente. La presentación de la comida es típica de estos locales de comida rápida, platos desechables al igual que cubiertos y vasos, aunque debo decir que si me dan cubiertos más grandes no me quejaría, no es algo a lo que le prestamos mucha atención en esta oportunidad, también debo acotar que si vas a este sitio y quieres comer más de lo que ya te ofrecen, tal vez debas pedir la comida para llevar, pues esta viene con mucha más cantidad.

Teniendo en cuenta el precio de la comida, debo ser sincera, y es que yo esperaba algo de baja calidad, y para nuestra sorpresa, estuvo muy buena, la atención a diferencia de otros sitios de comida china, fue realmente muy buena. Entonces para finalizar y teniendo en cuenta todo lo antes expuesto @fran-b El Gamer y yo La Bruja hemos decidido otorgarles 4 Estrella Michis a Kilaimin Jumbo

Yo creo que tenia al menos ese mismo tiempo sin ir a ese sitio, y encontrarlo aun abierto la verdad es que me encanto, siempre era de mis favoritos y ahora lo vuelve a ser!
Yo amo la comida china y viendo esos platos tan suculentos se me hizo agua la boca 🤤... Además que el precio me dejó sorprendida, ojalá encuentre algo como eso aquí en Caracas para matar el antojo que me quedo después de leer tu post 😅😂

Yo solía ir a un restaurant chino en el centro comercial Buenaventura (que aunque no esta en Caracas, te queda mas cerca que Maracay), que era realmente bueno y super económico, las costillas asadas de allí han sido las mejores que he probado en mi vida, Saludos y mil gracias por el apoyo
