All my life I have been a woman of thick build, with extra kilos, chubby or fat, as many of my friends even call me by affection, and my extra kilos or pounds had never affected me from any point of view, let's say that coming from a family with the same body complexion I did not feel with it, and even I have always led my life happily with those extra kilograms of beauty. I went through a fairly long depressive period that together with a rest of at least two years that my doctor demanded after the cesarean section and some extra complications that led me to a second surgery, my life went from being very active to be totally sedentary, let's say that 90% of my day was spent sitting at the computer, something that has not been reduced at all because my work mainly deserves to be in front of it.

Last year I intended to start again to do my exercises because the depression was already behind me and my mood was crying out for me to leave my house, unfortunately in March began the quarantine in my country, and with it my intentions to start again with a gym were frustrated, then in September, In September, almost a year later, I contracted Covid-19 and with it, they had to give me a large number of steroids to control the inflammation, pain, and cough that I felt would take my life, and this although it saved my life, it also left me a couple of months later many more extra kilos, to the point of losing almost all my clothes. To tell the truth, the fact of losing the clothes is not something that affected me so much because I needed to renew my closet, but the consequences would be seen more in the long term, affecting my physical health, my legs and feet hurt me constantly because of the overweight, something that had never happened to me.

My sleeping hours have been affected by this same problem, and keeping up with my little earthquake is almost impossible because he seems to have a freshly charged lithium battery and I have a used watch battery from 20 years ago, those that barely manage to move the second hand. So, and thinking more than anything about my son and having good health to be with him for many more years and to be able to endure all his antics, for a couple of months I have decided to change my habits not only food, but rather life, I continue to spend hours sitting at the computer, that I think is something I could not change for a long time.

Exchanging arepas, hamburgers and sandwiches at dinner for salads and grilled chicken from now on.

I try to go for a walk at least 3 times a week, I have enrolled my son in Karate classes which forces me to go out every day and be away from the computer for at least 2 hours a day from Monday to Thursday, and a week ago I started a new eating regimen guided by medical specialists, and nutritionists, as the idea is besides losing weight, This first week has not been easy, between getting used to having 3 main meals and 3 snacks a day, plus thinking about how to organize the menu to make it look appetizing and not feel the need to consume something improper, it is really a challenge for me.

I must say that the first few days I had a hard time because I still didn't have all the necessary things for snacks in principle, and going from a cake or a few cookies as a snack to a portion of jelly or yogurt from one day to the next is something I didn't think I could do, I still get bad headaches from the abstinence of eating something sweet, I never thought I would go through something like this, and when we take the sweet out of our diet for good, we feel the same symptoms that a drug or alcohol addict can feel, so I'm still dealing with it, but apart from being some days in a bad mood or with an unbearable headache, I have not felt major symptoms.

And is that the decision was taken impulsively so to speak, also I think that if I thought much I did not do it, and so far although only tomorrow is that I have a week to start this new lifestyle so to speak, already noticeable changes in my routine, I can already say that I rest better, after suffering the onslaught of Covid-19, sleep 8 hours in a row was mission impossible, I even changed the mattress thinking it was because of that, and even so, sleeping two hours generated an unbearable pain throughout the body, well that no longer happens, I sleep and rest better, which already represents a fairly representative gain, and drives me to continue in this new project, for me, for my health but above all for my son. As soon as I manage to organize myself better with respect to the kitchen, you can be sure that I will share my recipes more often because at the moment I am only cooking for myself, I still feel the temptation to eat some things that I should not.
