This is where i come from. My collection of childhood memories

Greetings community. I hope you are all very well!

A few days ago, I saw the call that the colleague @mipiano made us interact with the Hive Collectors community. A community dedicated to those who collect things that they consider valuable, it can be a monetary value, a sentimental value, or out of curiosity to have all the shapes and colors of something that seems interesting.

When I was thinking about participating in this community, I asked myself, what things do I collect? And I remember I had a small collection of very nice rocks, smooth, black, pink, and white as a child. But, I did not feed much more of this taste. I don't know if it gives me relief because I imagine today to have tons of rocks.

Thinking about what I collect today currently and as such I don't feel like I'm going out of my way to get new items or anything like that. So I'm not bringing you guys anything. End

Just kidding Jajaj don't go away!

I'm glad to say that as a kid, I used to save things I liked, things that were damaged or broken, things from school, or things that were given to me for some reason. I got to thinking, is this a collection? Although, it's not a collection of any one kind or shape. Everything has been saved to be remembered. So, I bring you a collection of my childhood memories.

On this small shelf is the corner of my childhood memories.

At a glance you can see pencil cases, two chess boards, a couple of magnets and several boxes. There are several options to choose from and to show to the community. So I decided to grab the one that was the most hidden and hardest to get out. So, I had to see and document them all hahahah.

At first, I thought I could present them all in one post. Then I thought about presenting two of these boxes. But, as I was going through this first box. I knew that this one would be more than enough for a first approach to the community.

imagen.png

Stashed in that shoebox, there were some random items and there was another box with lots of surprises. That's one of the things I like when I go through, to find out what's in these boxes. Reminiscing about the things that allowed me to carry them in there. We keep turning years, we keep growing up and we keep filling ourselves day after day with new emotions and memories and this kind of little things, which may seem silly, I keep them with a lot of feeling.

imagen.png

Each one of these things is associated to a memory, to a stage of my life and having them there, makes me remember those times more easily. And, it is inevitable for me to smile every time I remember my way of acting with things and I am moved by what I felt at that time. That object that has been stored, brings back all those feelings I once had as a child.

For example, this pistol of "pepas" (pellets) as we used to call it at home, we had about 5 of them. At first, it was one for the 4 of us, my sister sometimes played with it. When we all had one of these weapons, we played in the park with some neighbors who also had them, we did guerrilla warfare. Sometimes it was each one vs. all and sometimes we formed two sides. Of course, we had to wear sweaters, balaclavas, and caps because those little balls hit like hell. What I remember most is that the park had life for us. Time has passed and the park has been abandoned and the kids don't play there anymore.

Table tennis rackets that I even used as an adult. The famous floppy disks, you know I got to know them and I got to use them to take some work to school. The computer where I could see what information they had was damaged a few years ago and we couldn't repair it. So you will be left with the desire to know what they have :P

imagen.png

In the box there was an aluminum tube that my father brought one Christmas that had Christmas cookies in it. In the old days, even to sell cookies you could invest in a nice container like this one. Nowadays, it is very difficult to find a detail as good and of as much quality as this one. Let's see what's inside.

imagen.png

The first thing we can find is a bag and inside it there is something very special that I am very excited to have and bring to you. But you can find it at the end of the post.

Apart from the bag, we can see several random things.

imagen.png

A quick inspection of what is inside the tube, we can see a perinola, an eraser, a pair of pencil sharpeners, some spinning tops, a trolley, a tape from Argentina and a TV connector?

As I told you, in these boxes I also used to keep things so they wouldn't get lost and I guess that's where the TV connector and the eraser are in the box. The erasers, I suspect that this was one of the ways I used to lose them 😐

imagen.png

imagen.png

imagen.png

The pencil sharpeners I remember that they were no longer useful. But, I was thinking about getting them back so I wouldn't have to buy another one, plus they had the multiplication tables and at that time I was very worried that I would forget them hahahah. Curiously, having that concern, I never used those pencil sharpeners to remember the tables.

imagen.png

The spinning tops, of course I used them. They had many game modalities. But, what I remember most were the punishments suffered by the spinning tops of the losers. These punishments consisted of leaving marks on the spinning top or even mutilating them by removing the tip, practically the most atrocious punishments were to disable forever the spinning top of the teammate. Although I played with the tops, I never played with punishment. And, if you are wondering, I still remember very well how to dance a spinning top. Maybe in the future, I will show you my skills.

Along with the spinning tops. But already snooping inside the box. I also lived the evolution of them with the Bayblades. At school, we played with them. But, the fad passed very quickly because it was necessary to have a small stadium for the Bayblades to collide with each other. Without this stadium, they would just spin and the winner was the Bayblade that could spin the most. So, it was kind of boring after a few battles. And, whoever couldn't play with a Bayblade, played with a spinning top.

A soda cap? In school I remember that out of nowhere there was a kind of obsession with "yucca popping" and since as kids we didn't know how to do it, a friend showed us how he did it and showed us the cap hidden in his hand and made it sound just like "yucca pop" sounded. That's how I used to grab this kind of soda lid to give the impression that I was thundering my fingers.

imagen.png

There were also these piñata sets that we once bought to fill a piñata at a birthday party. These were some that were left over. There had been several bags left over, but little by little we were giving them away to kids who came to the house or they were perfect for gifts at birthdays.

A Hot Wheels cart. A friend of mine gave it to me as a gift at school. I honestly don't remember if he gave it to me as a gift or we made a trade for some metras (marbles) Since it was a heavy metal cart I knew it was very good. The ones I had were very light.

Now let's go with one of the things that I'm sure will give many of you a lot of memories and will surely encourage you to post. The mystery bag, what was inside the bag?

imagen.png

imagen.png

Pokémon decks or "tazos"! These were found inside a very well known product here called Pepito. I think we did eat a lot of Pepito in our childhood. This Pepito was a kind of puffed corn, with some salt. The bowl was enclosed in transparent paper. But, before we ate the pepito we would go straight to get the bowl.

I collected many with my brothers and some of them we lost in the tazos betting games and others we won in the same way.

imagen.png

I remember that I took a lot of care of this mallet so it wouldn't get scratched when I played with it. But, I remember it was a very bad sledgehammer to flip other sledgehammers jajaj. I'm glad I made that effort to take care of it.

imagen.png

imagen.png

This one crashed the party.

The way we played with the decks was very similar to how the Pokémons were caught in the anime. A small column was made with the Pokémons that were all stacked up, they had to be showing the Pokémon face up, and it took turns to see who hit first. The winner, with his or her lucky tazo, would hit the entire column of tazos, and all the tazos he or she managed to turn over would be won. Turning over the tiles was the same as capturing the Pokémon.

imagen.png

That's how most of the decks got scratched so much, in the duels. Although we tried to take care of our decks, it was very difficult for them not to get scratched while playing, and the ones that you can hardly distinguish the shape you can see I'm sure we won them in the duels. Of course, I also remember that we played with a modality, we would place the decks in the pile. But, not necessarily, those were not necessarily the ones that would be won by the one who managed to capture them. Instead, we would count how many each player had won, and then each player would distribute the pieces that he/she would not mind losing (the most scratched pieces) and so there were many more game modes.

imagen.png

The last decks that started to come out were with holograms. For us, it was like having two decks in one or at best three decks in one. Of course, these were the most valuable and we used them to try to win duels. But, thinking back, I don't think any of these were very good. They didn't even turn over the folded decks, which were the easiest to win.

Krabby was the first Pokémon that Ash caught with his own hands without the need to use another Pokémon.

You can see why just inspecting this first box was more than enough to present it to you.

Once I finished going through the box and playing with some of the things (that can't be missing in a good inspection) comes the sad task of putting them away again....

I remember that I used to feel very sorry to put some things away because I thought they could die in there. I guess, this feeling was born after watching some Toy Story movie. But, it was mandatory to keep them because otherwise they would be lost. In one of those moments of regret, to say goodbye better, I made some holes in the box so they could breathe. I felt a little better, from the outside I gave them my farewell and told them they already had some holes so they could breathe.

Well, I know there were a lot of things I showed on this occasion. I hope some of those things brought back some good memories. If it did, it means that we have a memory in common and that if we had been together we would have been able to play sometime and maybe I would have left you without tazos hahahah.

Thanks for seeing this little corner of my past. These are some of the things I keep and although they are not a typical collection, they have one thing in common, very special memories. I am very glad to have them and I am sure that with some of these things, I would like to have a huge collection. For example, today I would like to have all the Pokémon decks. Maybe some of you have it, if so don't hesitate to share it and tag me.

A collection of childhood memories!

Love the idea and your post!
Thank you so much for your post and the effort you made to bring your collection. I didn't have these Pokemon decks, I guess it was still not popular when I was a child :D (a long time ago 😁)

Floppy discs. So now we are left with a mystery, what is on them hahaha... 😅

Hello, very good morning

I'm glad you liked the post. Having found those decks and remembering so many anecdotes with them, was one of the things that gave me more pleasure. I think there will be several pokémon collections out there. I'll keep an eye out for them.

In my old pc I have the floppy disk reader. I'm thinking of some way to connect it to the laptop so I can unveil the mystery. Of them I remember only the information of one of them, some work I did. I hope, they are not damaged.

Thank you very much for your appreciation. This post was made with a lot of !LUV

Ok! I see very interesting things here that remind me of my childhood, believe me I recognize practically everything you share including the "Paseo" shoebox, but what blew the mind were the Pokemon tazos, I remember I had a lot of them.

This stuff you treasure has a lot of value. Thanks for sharing!

I'm sure you feel very happy with those little things that appeared in our childhood. I was very happy to know that we have those memories in common.

If you have any tazos out there, don't hesitate to share them.

Thanks so much for stopping by my post!
