Saben, hay muchas historias detrás de este personaje. Hay personas que tienen muchas cosas que decir de él y todos y cada historia que he escuchado de él, lo describen como un prepotente de primera. Una persona que primero es él, segundo es él y tercero es él.
Hubo un evento que lo describe a la perfección y se centra con él hace ya muchos años. Créanlo o no tenía una banda que había formado con sus amigos de la infancia. The Ego no le llamaba la atención la música, pero con la intención de ser mejor que sus amigos a quienes si les interesaba la música, “aprendió” a tocar la guitarra.
Los amigos de The Ego, les parecía molesto como era él al principio, luego lo toleraban más, hasta que les parecía gracioso, la forma en la que él se quería mostrar con todos y hacerse ver como el centro de cualquier actividad hasta el punto de hacer el ridículo. Él, nunca pensó que hacía el ridículo, en su pensar él se estaba comiendo al mundo. Sus amigos y familia pensaban que no tardaría mucho en cambiar y mejorar su actitud.

Todos sabían que estaba aprendiendo a tocar guitarra y con tal de mejorar como grupo eso les parecía genial. Un día llegó y dijo que ya no necesitaba clases, que lo que tenía que aprender ya lo había hecho, el resto lo aprendería él por su propia cuenta, porque la música fluía por él de manera natural. Al principio, les dio gracia a sus amigos porque sabían que lo más seguro fue que el profesor le dijo que no regresara más, porque ya no lo aguantaba. Pero, esto solo lo podría confirmar el propio The Ego, así que hasta el son de hoy no sabemos si dijo la verdad a sus amigos.
The Ego siguió aprendiendo por su propia cuenta con cursos de Youtube y sus amigos seguían mejorando muy bien. Practicaban todos los días, pero veían que The Ego estaba demasiado a des tiempo, tenían que practicar de más debido a él. The Ego siempre decía que se equivocaban y les daba órdenes para que lo hicieran mejor. Varias veces Tim el baterista se enojaba con él y le decía que era él el que fallaba y no el resto de la banda. La mayoría de las veces los demás solo se reían de estos encuentros entre estos dos. Para The Ego, estas discusiones solo lo inspiraban más para humillar a Tim y varias veces estuvieron apunto de agarrarse a golpes, pero los demás intercedían justo a tiempo, se iban a descansar y al día siguiente todos los ánimos se calmaban.
Con los años mejoraron tanto que se emocionaron mucho con crear un primer disco. Este disco quedó muy bien, tenía un sonido único, típico de las bandas primerizas que quieren improvisar en el mundo de la música. El primer disco a veces es lo que más engancha a una banda. Todos lo sabían, pero se sentían muy confiados con lo que tenían. Aquí salía mejor a relucir el rol de The Ego, al hablar de este disco como una obra maestra y que todo lo que la música había producido antes de este disco era pura caca. Que deberían darles ya el Grammy y todos los premios habidos y por haber. Todos los de la banda se enganchaban con este ánimo, era lo que más necesitaban y fue la época donde mejor les cayó The Ego.
Fue un breve momento de alegría para los miembros de la banda. Porque, luego se enterarían que su música estaba sonando en todas las radios y eran una sensación. Todos se desconcertaron, la banda se reunió varias veces para hablar del asunto y con la intención de buscar soluciones y si era necesario demandar. Pero, las dos veces que se reunieron The Ego nunca estaba disponible. Decidieron ellos mismos sin The Ego ir a la disquera que estaba distribuyendo su música para que les dieran una explicación.
En la disquera los recibieron con un contrato firmado que le daba todos los derechos a un tal The Ego, había firmado un contrato millonario por el disco. Decía que él como líder de la banda y representante sería el encargado de distribuir las ganancias que produjera el disco a los miembros. Un día, Tim andaba con su camioneta entregando unas flores para un matrimonio, cruzó una esquina y vio a The Ego saliendo de un club. Después de la traición, él nunca les dio la oportunidad de hablar, ni se disculpó, ni nada. La rabia inundó a Tim, vio que The Ego estaba cruzando la calle para montarse en un vehículo que Tim siempre había deseado tener un Dodge Viper. La cólera lo nubló y aceleró la camioneta en dirección a The Ego y lo arrolló. The Ego logró verle la cara antes de recibir el golpe que lo lanzó varios metros. Tim, seguía caótico y decidió pasarle la camioneta por encima para después huir de la escena.
En la calle sin moverse, con la sangre brotando por todos lados y seguro con varios huesos rotos The Ego dice: “Nadie matará a The Ego, ni siquiera la rabia”. Se desmayó y lograron llevarlo al hospital donde pudieron salvar su vida, quedó sin mover las piernas por un tiempo. Logró identificar a Tim como el agresor, el cuál ya se había entregado con las autoridades y ahí The Ego encontró la salida de su demanda. Los demás no debían seguir con la demanda o sino Tim iría a la cárcel. Inmediatamente todos aceptaron la condición que The Ego imponía y para hacer responsable a Tim, debía pagar todos sus tratamientos médicos. Tim aceptó, por el remordimiento que sintió de sus acciones y que por su culpa la demanda ya no prosperaría…
The Ego, se salió con la suya, solo tuvo un éxito en su vida y fue el que sus “amigos” habían trabajado y ese éxito le bastó para vivir con cualquier lujo. Está demás decir que después del incidente con Tim, eso explotó las ventas del disco y volvió más millonario a The Ego. En su cabeza él sigue pensando que él trabajó ese disco solo. Aunque varios conocen esta historia, siguen andando con The Ego solo por interés. Porque si no fuera por su dinero, creo que más de uno le daría una paliza por esa personalidad tan áspera que tiene y por lo que les hizo a sus amigos.

Allá afuera como The Ego hay muchos. Pero, me alegro decir que como Tim que sienten remordimiento y culpa hay más, también como los otros miembros de la banda que sin pensarlo dos veces son capaces de renunciar a millones por ayudar a un amigo.
Como nota alegre, la banda sin The Ego se mantuvo unida y están por sacar su quinto disco. Les fue muy fácil reemplazar a The Ego en la guitarra con alguien que resultó mucho más confiable. Toda la banda vive de la música.

You know, there are many stories behind this character. There are people who have many things to say about him and each and every story I've heard about him, they describe him as an overbearer of the first order. A person who first is him, second is him and third is him.
There was one event that describes him perfectly and it centered with him many years ago. Believe it or not he had a band that he had formed with his childhood friends. The Ego was not interested in music, but with the intention of being better than his friends who were interested in music, he "learned" to play the guitar.
The Ego's friends found him annoying at first, then they tolerated him more, until they found it funny, the way he wanted to show himself to everyone and make himself look like the center of any activity to the point of making a fool of himself. He never thought he was making a fool of himself, in his mind he was eating the world. His friends and family thought it wouldn't take long for him to change and improve his attitude.

Everyone knew he was learning to play guitar and as long as he was improving as a group they thought it was great. One day he came in and said that he didn't need lessons anymore, that what he had to learn he had already done, the rest he would learn on his own, because the music flowed through him naturally. At first, his friends were amused because they knew it was most likely that the teacher told him not to come back anymore, because he couldn't stand it anymore. But, this could only be confirmed by The Ego himself, so to this day we don't know if he told the truth to his friends.
The Ego continued to learn on his own with YouTube courses and his friends continued to improve very well. They practiced every day, but they saw that The Ego was too much in time, they had to practice too much because of him. The Ego always said they were wrong and gave them orders to do better. Several times Tim the drummer would get mad at him and tell him that he was the one failing and not the rest of the band. Most of the time the others would just laugh at these encounters between these two. For The Ego, these arguments only inspired him more to humiliate Tim and several times they were about to come to blows, but the others would intercede just in time, go to rest and the next day all tempers would calm down.
Over the years they improved so much that they were very excited to create a first album. This album turned out very well, it had a unique sound, typical of first time bands that want to improvise in the music world. The first record is sometimes what hooks a band the most. Everyone knew it, but they felt very confident with what they had. Here The Ego's role came out best, talking about this record as a masterpiece and that everything music had produced before this record was pure poop. That they should just give them the Grammy and every award there is. Everyone in the band was hooked on this mood, it was what they needed the most and it was the time when The Ego hit them the best.
It was a brief moment of joy for the band members. Because, they would later find out that their music was playing on all the radios and they were a sensation. Everyone was baffled, the band met several times to discuss the matter and with the intention of seeking solutions and if necessary sue. But, the two times they met The Ego was never available. They decided themselves without The Ego to go to the label that was distributing their music to get an explanation.
The label received them with a signed contract that gave all the rights to one The Ego, who had signed a millionaire contract for the album. It said that he as the band leader and manager would be in charge of distributing the profits produced by the album to the members. Since there was a signed contract, they could sue The Ego who was in charge of distributing the profits that the label was distributing without fail.
This made the band so angry that they went to look for The Ego at his house. But, they couldn't find him, he had already moved out. Tim said he was going to kill him if he saw him. The band, took a very hard blow from one of their supposed friends. Eventually the lawsuits against The Ego came and they were forcing him to pay his buddies what he owed them.

One day, Tim was driving his truck delivering flowers for a wedding, crossed a corner and saw The Ego coming out of a club. After the betrayal, he never gave them a chance to talk, never apologized or anything. Anger flooded Tim, he saw that The Ego was crossing the street to get into a vehicle that Tim had always wanted to own a Dodge Viper. Anger clouded him and he sped the truck in The Ego's direction and ran him over. The Ego managed to get a glimpse of his face before being hit and thrown several feet. Tim, still chaotic, decided to run the van over him and then flee the scene.
In the street without moving, with blood gushing everywhere and surely with several broken bones The Ego says: "No one will kill The Ego, not even rabies". He passed out and they managed to get him to the hospital where they were able to save his life, he was left without moving his legs for a while. He managed to identify Tim as the aggressor, who had already turned himself in to the authorities and there The Ego found a way out of his lawsuit. The others were not to follow through with the lawsuit or else Tim would go to jail. Immediately everyone agreed to the condition that The Ego imposed and to hold Tim responsible, he had to pay for all his medical treatment. Tim agreed, because of the remorse he felt for his actions and that because of him the lawsuit would no longer be successful
The Ego, he got away with it, he only had one hit in his life and it was the one his "friends" had worked on and that hit was enough for him to live in any luxury. Needless to say that after the incident with Tim, it exploded the sales of the album and made The Ego even more millionaire. In his head he still thinks that he worked on that album alone. Although many people know this story, they are still hanging out with The Ego just out of interest. Because if it wasn't for his money, I think more than one would beat him up for his rough personality and what he did to his friends.

Out there like The Ego there are many. But, I'm glad to say, there are more out there like Tim who feel remorse and guilt, also like the other band members who without a second thought are able to give up millions to help a friend.
On a happy note, the band without The Ego stayed together and are about to release their fifth album. It was very easy for them to replace The Ego on guitar with someone who turned out to be much more reliable. The whole band lives off the music.
