Hello cartoonists and illustrators friends, I hope you are very well. I want to share with you a drawing that I made by the rap singer of the group Blackpink Lisa, now known as Lalisa. She is an extraordinary artist that I consider very influential, just like her group, in general I really like her style and it is one of the few things I hear about music today. The drawing is made in prismacolor premier color pencils on Fabriano paper, I hope you like it.

Hola amigos dibujantes e ilustradores espero que se encuentren muy bien. Quiero compartir con ustedes un dibujo que hice la cantante de rap del gurpo Blackpink Lisa, ahora conocida como Lalisa. Es una extraordinaria artista que considero muy influyente al igual que su grupo, en general me gusta mucho su estilo y es una de las pocas cosas que escucho acerca de la música de la actualidad. El dibujo está realizado lápices de color prismacolor premier sobre papel fabriano, espero les guste.

PROCESS

I used this paper because when blending the colors it allows you to continue making more strokes without compromising the color or damaging the surface, it really is very good. So I started the sketch with a soft lead pencil and used the freeform method to represent the face. I really like Asian women and their faces, so I already had a background of interest to draw Lisa.

Usé este papel porque al momento de difuminar los colores permite seguir haciendo más trazos sin comprometer el color y tampoco dañar la superficie, realmente es muy bueno. Así que comencé el boceto con lápiz de mina suave y utilicé el método de formas libres para representar el rostro. Me gusta mucho las mujeres asiáticas y sus rostros, así que ya tenía un antecedente de interés para dibujar a Lisa.

Without wasting time I was outlining all the details of the center of the face, I always like to have a starting point when painting my drawings, it is the way I have to know where I am going and if they are going well or if I should start again. So I outline the eyes with dark brown and I'm putting the first layers of color on the skin.

Sin perder tiempo estuve delineando todos los detalles del centro del rostro, siempre me gusta tener un punto de partida al momento de pintar mis dibujos, es la forma que tengo de saber por donde voy y si están saliendo bien o si debo comenzar de nuevo. Así que delineo los ojos con café oscuro y en la piel voy poniendo las primeras capaz de color.

Concentrating on this area of ​​the face, I begin to color the eyes, being a little brown, it added more color to the skin so I use another layer of pastel color to give it shape. Another important aspect was making the lips, here I used all the red and pink colors to be able to make the lips realistic.

Ya concentrado en esta zona del rostro comienzo a ponerle color a los ojos, siendo un poco café, agregó más color a la piel así que utilizo otra capa de color pastel para ir dándole forma. Otro aspecto importante fue hacer los labios, aquí hice uso de todos los colores rojos y rosados para poder hacer los labios de forma realista.

Now I use the instrument of my secret in handling colors: the brush soaked in a little mineral oil. As I have said on previous occasions, this technique helps a lot to mix the colors and to achieve a better finish, since the colors are creamy wax it is as if we were working with oil paint. So I blend the colors used on the lips and thus give it volume and then apply more strokes. As for the hair, I color with quick strokes in several sessions until I get the desired volume.

Ahora utilizo el instrumento de mi secreto en el manejo de los colores: el pincel remojado en un poco de aceite mineral. Como he dicho en anteriores oportunidades, esta técnica ayuda mucho a mezclar los colores y a conseguir un mejor acabado, como los colores son de cera cremosa es como si estuviéramos trabajando con pintura al óleo. Así que difumino los colores usados en los labios y así le voy dando volumen y luego aplicar más trazos. En cuanto al cabello voy coloreando con trazos rápidos en varias sesiones hasta conseguir el volumen deseado.

After using several layers of color in the hair strokes, I also mix and blend them using the brush, leaving those areas of the hair where the light reflection is stronger, I do this with softer strokes. When I finish blending I continue applying more strokes of black to give more volume to the hair.

Luego de utilizar varias capas de color en los trazos para el cabello también los mezclo y difumino utilizando el pincel, dejándo aquellas zonas del cabello donde el reflejo de la luz es más fuerte, esto lo hago con trazos más suaves. Al terminar de difuminar sigo aplicando más trazos de color negro para darle más volumen al cabello.

To finish the drawing I started again from the beginning with each line of color, this to give it more volume, I am not very expert in realism, but I know that insisting on the lines is the way to achieve a realistic work, I like it going another way to be able to give my personal touch to each portrait, is the way I have to be able to express myself in an already established figure. I also draw part of the clothes and to give it a better finish I draw the background in blue. In this way the drawing is finished.

Para finalizar el dibujo comencé nuevamente desde el principio con cada trazo de color, esto para darle más volumen, yo no soy muy experto en el realismo, pero se que insistir en los trazos es la forma de lograr una obra realista, a mi me gusta ir por otro camino para poder darle mi toque personal a cada retrato, es la forma que tengo de poder expresarme en una figura ya establecida. También dibujo parte de la ropa y para darle un mejor acabado dibujo el fondo en color azul,. De esta manera ha quedado finalizado el dibujo.

FINAL WORK

A few last reviews of the details and I can consider the drawing finished. At first I had the idea of ​​drawing only with a graphite pencil but I couldn't resist the temptation to use color so I changed my mind. However I think I feel the need to draw only with pencil, sometimes it's good to go back to the beginning to find new ways of doing things, just like life. Unos últimos repasos a los detalles y puedo dar por terminado el dibujo. Al principio tenía la idea de dibujar solamente con lápiz de grafito pero no resistí la tentación de usar color así que cambié de parecer. Sin embargo creo que siento la necesidad de dibujar solo con lápiz, a veces es bueno volver al inicio para encontrar nuevas formas de hacer las cosas, tal como la vida. Esto ha sido mi aporte del día de hoy, espero que haya llamado su atención, me despido hasta una nueva oportunidad para compartir un poco de arte.
