Ask Leo, Self Vote,is it Good or Bad
Their are thousands of questions I sincerely think I could ask at times and on most occasions I always wished that answer's are given at the same time, but at times I see that on most occasions I just have to keep low and see how things is going on.To me I sincerely believed that one of the major mission of the hive ecosystem is to promote one another and also to enhance productivity in the community. but at times it seems some user's try to go around it in another way
Can we talk about self voting
Definitely to me I sincerely think their should be an avenue where by self voting will be looked into right now. To me self voting seems to be another means of bringing down some of the aims and objectives of the community
Staking of tokens is definitely one thing we can't but talk about, cause that is one of the most paramount factor in the community , staking of token give user's the ability to curate contents and also get rewards in return,but recently it seems so many individuals choose to rather go for self voting irrespective of what they have written.
How does self vote affect the community
If their is anything that will bring down the community growth base on my opinion,I sincerely see self voting as a factor , cause to me it demoralized the ability to justify which content is valuable or not , user's that engage in self voting as indeed bring down the uniqueness that comes with voting valuable contents.
Do self voting affect user's that engage in it
Definitely and I can boldly say more should be done to users who use to engage in self voting, one of the effects of self voting was seen last year where by most user's that engage in it were not eligible for the Vyb airdrop,it shows that the community on it own see that method or act as a way of cheating the community.
Do voting other content helps the community growth
The best way to give commendations to content creator in the community is by up voting their contents and this also give them the strength to keep on coming with valuable contents that will enhance everyone's growth and also make the community more productive
Can self voting be stopped
Definitely and I think more measure should be taken against user's that engage in that attitude, just as the Vyb community goes against it, I sincerely think that other communities too should take such method too and stop user's that do that too.
Having a very good voting power is good and I sincerely think using it to curate Contents that are valuable too is vital and if not, following curation trail in the community won't be a bad idea ,as I will suggest the @onealfa curation trail as one to fellow.
Honestly to me I sincerely see self voting as a means of oppressing the new bies and those who aren yet to come of age in the community, hive system to me is all about promoting each other and the community,so self vote should be stopped in order to enhance growth and productivity in the community.
Bottom line
I sincerely believe that everyone has one view or the other as regards this,but base on my opinion I sincerely see this act a way of cheating in the community

This problem is really hard to fix, because if you managed to bring a mechanism to prevent the self voting, simply the people with high votes power will open another account and vote for them selves.
It can be also that they create two accounts and upvote themselves, its not self vote but how do you track it

This is an honest truth and even right now we have so many multi account own by a single user in the community,I sincerely think up vote on self content can be revoked any time it happens too,I think that will indeed help in bringing an end to such act

I remember how the witnesses discussed self-voting and agreed on a maximum of 25% of the votes for themselves, however, this was a long time ago during the war of the flags.

It's up to the individual hat they want to vote for themselves or not. But again think about a scenario where you are upvoting yourself 10 times a day, which is absolutely wrong.

I don't self-vote and never have in my few months that I have been on Hive. I was told early on that you should not do it, as it is frowned upon and some big voters will downvote you if they see you doing it.

I often see big accounts voting their own posts. But it might not be intentional especially when they are following a curation trail then that trail upvotes their content. That's one reason why I cancelled all the trails that I used to follow before.

I have no problem if small account vote for their own stuff in an effort to grow. That never bothers me.
Larger accounts, I do not feel it is appropriate. At that point, the focus should be on the works of others. It is the larger accounts who have the influence over the ability to spread the reward pool out.

Yes and that is the important point. We need to support those who show the inclination to support Hive.
Many come to just scalp rewards and pull the money out without any serious desire to build long term. These are the ones who should be passed over.

The more Hive you have, the more tempting you are to vote for yourself lol. I see only one solution to this problem, this is the introduction of written rules. Unwritten rules do not work and are easily ignored.
