Wednesday - it was

Every morning from the office window when I draw the curtains. The rising sun catches the aloes. Still not quite in full flower. This was yesterday morning, and when I started this post, in a kinda neutral frame of mind, it was still cold and not quite light. Then it rained. And rained. And the country is back into being loadsh*t. We whisper that our switch doesn't get flipped, but really, loadshedding does affect us because it affects the adjacent town and the internet. As does the rain.

It's frustrating.

The best thing about the rain is that the building site across the road is silent. Quiet. Still. No grinding of the concrete mixer, yelling of workers. Just the rain-drumming-on-the-roof-quiet.

It's bliss. Except for the internet which has frustrated me all day.

Now, as I come to finish this off, I'm contemplating tonight's supper. Before I head off, though, I'll share last night's supper with you!

It was pasta night and with it, I did slow cooked mushrooms with white wine, slow braised onions and garlic and green peppers.

The salad antipasti was just leaves, cucumber, sauteed brinjal and gooseberries from the garden.

Although The Husband had a bad day, and claimed not to be hungry, when I asked him if he'd like pasta for supper, his reply was

Wouldn't miss it!

I'm pleased to report that he ate every morsel. So, while he's saying he's not hungry, he is eating.

Today he has rested. I gave him a talking-to. Hopefully he has a better night after a good supper and a betterer day tomorrow.

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
I blog to the Hive blockchain using a number of decentralised appplications.
  • From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

  • Join Hive using this link and then join us in the Silver Bloggers' community by clicking on the logo.

Pasta looks delish, goes well with almost all vegetables and salads. I love the huge flowers of the Aloe. O have them too in my andalusian garden.. So sad that I don´t see them in Summer because we are there only in Winter.
