Super supper because ...

It's been at least two years since we had a proper get together in the garden. Because we couldn't. Because lockdown regulations did not allow gatherings. And then there was curfew. We have cheated a couple of times - for survival - and on the sly. This time, because curfew is gone and people are allowed to invite others into their homes, we did.

We polished and spat.

The ancient sunflowers that had gathered drought dust had a shower and the garden, returning to green glory is a good place to be.

It was a bring and share and among our guests, a fellow bread baker. His a French baguette style and mine Italian.

There was conversation and laughter. And then it was done.

And it was good. We look forward to doing it again. Because we can.

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
I blog to the Hive blockchain using a number of decentralised appplications.
  • From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

  • Join Hive using this link and then join us in the Silver Bloggers' community by clicking on the logo.

  • lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on @hive.blog and Canva.

Oh, it was dreadful. We really felt it in our little village - all of them. Let's hope we're over the worst of this now and we can look forward to getting to some semblance of that "old" normality.

That is brilliant, two years an awfully long time. I have not done it either, I like the different breads that you and your guest make!

It was. We now have to get into the habit again. It's good for everyone. Those breads - so interestingly different.

That looks like such a lovely setting for a meal with friends. Under our current lockdown settings here in New Zealand, I believe we are allowed to visit with friends, but we must meet outdoors. So your setup here would be ideal for us, were it in NZ. Some good friends of ours have a nice furnished patio deck, and we've had meals with them there a few times lately. It is lovely, with these warm clear evenings, once the heat of the day has dissipated a bit.

For much of our lockdowns, we weren't even able to do that! So it's all the more special. Frankly, I prefer that it's out doors. Let's see how we feel when winter comes.
