Friday Files - an odd one
Yes, I am on a marmalade mission again. A fresh batch of marmalade while citrus is still inexpensive. To build stocks especially after an unexpected sale of seven during the week.
For today's market, the popular Moroccan lentil and butternut salad.
To go with the other labelsnand to replace the fiddly little tags that I used for the shallow and pot-bellied jars, round labels now gracing the hummus and chicken liver paté, etc. jars.
Speaking of jars, this week's jar: the very popular lentil and butternut...
But
In the middle of this I acted on a thought that had been in my brain for says and got in touch with a friend. As it turns out, my intuition was right: he's had some nasty health issues. He's dealing with them and I understand the prognosis is good. But still. A shock.
And then another. The news Jan Boer who had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer some 18 months ago, had died.
I had a little more wine than I should have, so supper was just, well, supper.
As I write a year ago this day is much on my mind.
A little contemplative, but that's life, right?
Until next time, be well

My day just was start so I have strong coffee, I see you had also.
Your labels look so pretty Fiona!
I would love to know how you make that Moroccan Lentil & Butternut Salad?
I'm not allowed any wine at the moment with this medication I'm on, until my body gets used to it! I just hate it as I miss having a red wine with my meal, (not a white wine girl)! I think we all need a little too much now and then especially after a hard week.
I am really happy with how they've turned out. I labelled some marmalade yesterday - square jars that don't cope with the rectangular ones, and which have black lids. Very pretty.
Alas, red wine doesn't agree with me. I do allow myself the odd glass from time to time, but tend to stick to my old faithful white sauvignon blanc....
