Mostly Blue

The day began with blossom and blue sky. A huge change from yesterday's cold, windy and wet.

One of the things that hasn't changed over the last 20-odd years is my playing with our food. Actually, it's got worse. Last night's supper for our anniversary was no different. The antipasti was a little blue: a salad of blueberries, blue cheese and beetroot on rocket.

For the pasta, I took a litre of frozen homemade tomato soup, simmered it until it had reduced by about half.

Half of that went over the pasta with a little olive oil and homemade labneh and finished off with chopped fresh origanum.

The day ended cold and clear, and with a feline waiting for warmth and company.

(if you're unfamiliar, there is an artist feud basically between Stuart Semple and Anish Kapoor because Anish Kapoor bought the rights to vantablack pigment and refused to let any other artists use it, so Stuart Semple made his own version of the blackest black and if you want to buy it, the website says something like, "in order to buy this pigment, you must certify that you are not Anish Kapoor nor are you buying it on his behalf," lol)
