Friday Files: the swallows are back

One swallow doth not a summer make. It does, however make spring! This chap and two others greeted me yesterday morning as I drew the curtains.

I miss their swooping around with their whistles and trills when they leave.

Some of yesterday and the last few months' work product. It was, as you see, a long list.

Cured and pickled olives that were a gift and tapenade. Yes, these are the olives of about four months ago...

Oh, and check the new labels!!

For this week's plant-based jar salad: a French style barley and lentil salad.* All available at the market.

*When I gave The Husband a taste test, he asked what was for supper. He was delighted when there was too much for those jars and not enough for a fifth....

Until next time, be well

How do you like the WordPress exporter? I was thinking of setting it up and trying it for my 'non hive' blog. Funny you mentioned Dapplr too, I downloaded it but haven't had a chance to sign in yet. Will have to check it out!

Love it! It's part of what actually enabled me to get "into" the social blockchain. Funnily enough, I spoke about - and Dapplr which I use daily, as I do Peakd - here. IMO they (and other Dapps) all have their place.

I love your new labels! Nice to be using some of those olives for the market. Did they go over well? I know that everything goes over well at your market! Did you make bread this week or pass on it? I guess it is starting to get warmer over there and perhaps that will change your menu some.

I bet your husband loves it when there are leftovers! Nice for you too as you can get a tiny break from the kitchen. Oh! You work too hard!!

You make #MarketFriday proud and it is so fun to watch you show off the culture there. I love the concept of #MarketFriday and how our cultures differ and then again, how much they are alike. Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages. Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I had hoped that posting here will familiarize you with the world around you just a little bit more. Viewing it from a more personal level as opposed to the newsworthy level gives me a better understanding of the people and a view that is often not seen on television. Sometimes, it seems like I learn more on some social media about a certain incident than what the news tells me.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how: I put this in for those reading your post, so they will know the rules.

Rules of the Road

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
  3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
  5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
  6. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
  7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
  8. Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

Hello, Denise!

Yes, the bread - loaves and rolls - were all there. I just didn't take/post any photos. Thank you for the feedback on the labels - they are being very well received and I'm glad I've taken the leap. I've been hemmin' and hawin' for long enough! LOL

On the olives - none of the jars went, but I sold 2 of the tapenade. And I only took 3 of the 6. So.

Yes, the weather's turning - mercifully. I loathe winter (unless you hadn't guessed!) and I'm moving from a soup of the week to a Jar Salad of the week. The first was the butternut from last week (oh, and if I've not thanked you for the glass of wine - cheers! <3) and it's exercising my creative juices which is really good as I always try to make the offering entirely plant-based. Not sure I'll always get that right like I do with the soup.

I must stop blethering nd go and do dinner!

Thanks as always for taking the time to stop by - I really appreciate it.

Have a good week.
