My Top 3 Online Card Games Review

Hello everyone i hope you are well! One thing that you may not know about me is that i am quite a gamer but i don't make any relevant posts as i don't know exactly what to post and how. @strawhat has many gaming posts that caught my attention i dare to say. The main reason is that we play the same game and most likely have the same taste in this kind of genre.

Btw @strawhat i completed Lost Judgment, an amazing game i dare to say with a satisfactory ending for me at least. I am playing the DLC now, the Kaito files! I may try and search during the next week on how to record and post a video of playing without showing my face or something :p

Let's get back to our main topic which is Online Card Games. In case you are searching for relevant games you can google TCG or CCG as well. In general, i quite like this genre but the sad part is the lack of content and players due to the repetitiveness and lack of unique ideas. What i really enjoy though is to start from zero and make a good deck, use my brain and enjoy the art. Below is a list of my top 3 Online Card games starting from the bottom and climbing to the top:

3) YU-GI-OH Duel Links

Most the people out there are familiar with Yu-Gi-oh both as an anime and ofc as a card game. I think it's one of the most popular card games out there that still has a fanbase and that still focusing on new content and cards. Duel Links is both a mobile and a Pc game so you can play it anywhere.

The main difference in the gameplay with the show and in general with the card game is that you have 3 zones instead of 5. This means that the gameplay, the mechanics and the builds are different so everyone needs to think a bit more strategically and utilize new ways and techniques to build a strong deck.

The fights are quite fast, there are tons of cards ad unique combo and it's easy to obtain cards without spending money which is actually quite cool if you want to kill some time.

The sad part though is that if you want to get competitive it can be more of a pay to win as you can easily obtain better cards that way. Also, due to the meta in the top tiers, there are very specific decks that can be used in order to win and basically anyone can build them if he/she knows nothing about the game. You can watch a video, invest some money and you have a top-tier deck. Due to that i stopped playing it.

2) Slay The Spire

This game is a roquelike deck building game which seems to be the new trend now as i have seen many similar games popping out. Basically, you choose between some "heroes" and each has certain cards based on their abilities let's say. As you move on with the game and depending on the enemies you face you get to choose between cards and abilities let's say and make your deck stronger depending on your approach.

So you start your journey trying to climb to the tower, earning new cards, triggering random events and facing stronger and stronger enemies. If you lose you start all the way from the start. At first, the game can be quite interesting and i have played it for many hours. After a certain point though it gets a bit boring and repetitive.

1) Shadowverse

This is by far my favorite online card game. First of all, it's anime like so the art is quite amazing. You get to choose from a set of different characters who have completely different kinds of decks. For example, you can have a deck with vampires, with dragons, with elves, knights, undead even robots.

Now the pretty cool thing is that besides the multiplayer gameplay that you can play with other people's friendly or competitive matches, you can also play it in the single-player mode. This mode actually has quite a lengthy story that it will get you many many hours of gameplay to complete it, you will get to learn the story of each character and try different kind of decks and cards.

To make it more interesting you can evolve your cards in every game but only for the game period. Depending on whether you play first or second you have 3 or 2 evolution points. You can pretty much evolve any card once, the image changes completely as well as the stats and also the abilities get better. How cool is that?

The only drawback i see, is that after a while it cat get boring and i would also like a 2vs2 gameplay, i believe it would uplift the game. Still, there are many people who play it, it is considered quite well known in Asia and it's free ofc!

Have you played any of the above and what's your favorite online card game in general?

All the images are from my Steam account but one and the link is: 1
