Un mensaje de Nochebuena

Entendemos que la nochebuena es la vigilia para la llegada de la navidad, entendemos como navidad la celebración de la natividad de Jesús, el hijo de Dios, por lo menos para occidente y el mundo cristiano. Pero, hoy quiero escribir un mensaje más allá de cualquier ideología o credo. No soy historiador, o conocedor de la biblia, así que no pretendo apegarme a ello, sino que me apegaré a la lógica. ¿Raro? un mensaje de noche buena apegado a la lógica, pero, creo que tiene todo el sentido del mundo, ya que la lógica suele mirar más allá de lo obvio. Ahora bien, para no hacer un preámbulo demasiado tedioso, vamos con el mensaje.

¿Nochebuena?

La primera nochebuena no fue tan buena, ¿por qué? No he tenido dolores de parto, pero, entiendo que es algo doloroso, así que pongámonos en el lugar de María una joven de aproximadamente 15 años tal vez, sobre una mula cansada por un largo viaje, con dolores de parto, buscando un lugar para pasar la noche y lo que consiguen fue un establo. ¿Has visitado algún establo o redil en tu vida? ¿Crees que es un buen lugar para dar a luz? No parece un lugar higiénico y digno para un bebe, ahora bien, entendiendo que es el hijo de Dios, resulta aun menos apropiado, y este es el punto del mensaje. Entre la dignidad y la humildad hay un punto medio que no sé como llamar.

Pero, parece que Jesús desde su nacimiento nos quiere dar una enseñanza, más allá de lo religioso del texto puesto que la biblia responde a una naturaleza espiritual, y pienso que ninguno de sus textos puede ser entendido de manera historia o literal, sino de manera simbólica, y el nacimiento de Jesús posee ricos elementos si le miramos con esta óptica, y aun más ricos de sentido si evaluamos el texto como una obra literaria y no como un libro científico. De hecho, la hermenéutica se trata de ello, pero como dije, no soy biblista así que puedo estar cometiendo errores, me excuso por ello. En esta época navideña, es importante reflexionar sobre dos virtudes fundamentales de la condición humana, pues es lo que siento que el nacimiento de Jesús nos revela realmente, nuestra condición humana posee la humildad y la dignidad. La humildad es la capacidad de reconocer nuestros propios límites y debilidades. Es la conciencia de que no somos perfectos, y que siempre podemos aprender y crecer. La humildad nos hace más abiertos a los demás, más dispuestos a escucharlos a aprender de ellos. Por otro lado, definamos la dignidad.

La dignidad es el valor que nos otorgamos a nosotros mismos, independientemente de nuestras circunstancias. Es la creencia de que somos merecedores de respeto y consideración. La dignidad nos ayuda a mantenernos firmes en nuestros valores, incluso cuando enfrentamos desafíos. Así, que entendiendo estos dos aspectos de lo que somos.

La humildad y la dignidad parecen dos virtudes complementarias. La humildad nos ayuda a reconocer nuestra dignidad, y la dignidad nos ayuda a actuar con humildad, o eso es lo que parece si le pensamos como un conjunto.

La humildad y la dignidad nos pueden ayudan a vivir una vida más plena y satisfactoria. No sé si nos puedan hacer personas más felices, pero si no ayuda a estar más conectados con los demás, y más capaces de contribuir al mundo.

Estamos en un momento de la historia bastante interesante, lleno de cambios y los cambios son desafíos unos grandes otros no tanto, pero, poder crear una conciencia de que todos en el mundo somos una especie de familia extendida, podremos afrontar mejor los desafíos, y tener presentes estos dos valores esta nochebuena puede significar un pequeño cambio.

Independientemente de como pases estas fechas, con mucho, con poco o tal vez nada, quizá con seres queridos o quizá sin ninguno de ellos, es valioso detenernos y reflexionar ¿Cómo podemos ser mejores? Siempre podemos ser mejores, y esa es el verdadero motivo por el cual nace esta reflexión para noche buena, un intento de mi estoicidad por revisarme y edificar un yo mejor.

But, it seems that Jesus from his birth wants to give us a teaching, beyond the religious aspect of the text, since the bible responds to a spiritual nature, and I think that none of its texts can be understood in a historical or literal way, but in a symbolic way, and the birth of Jesus has rich elements if we look at it with this point of view, and even richer in meaning if we evaluate the text as a literary work and not as a scientific book. In fact, hermeneutics is about it, but as I said, I am not a biblical scholar so I may be making mistakes, I apologize for that. From all this, let's stay with the issue of humility and dignity.

Humility and dignity

This Christmas season, it is important to reflect on two fundamental virtues of the human condition, for it is what I feel the birth of Jesus truly reveals to us, our human condition possesses humility and dignity. Humility is the ability to recognize our own limits and weaknesses. It is the awareness that we are not perfect, and that we can always learn and grow. Humility makes us more open to others, more willing to listen to them and learn from them. On the other hand, let us define dignity.

Dignity is the value we place on ourselves, regardless of our circumstances. It is the belief that we are worthy of respect and consideration. Dignity helps us hold fast to our values, even when we face challenges. So, understanding these two aspects of who we are.

Humility and dignity seem like two complementary virtues. Humility helps us to recognize our dignity, and dignity helps us to act with humility, or so it seems if we think of it as a whole.

At Christmas, I think it is proper to remember that we should always show respect to others, even to those who treated us cruelly, Christmas is a special time of the year, a time to not only bet on peace, but to be the peace we would like to be.

We can go beyond Christmas and manage to practice humility and dignity in our daily lives. We can be humble by recognizing our own limitations, and by being willing to learn from others, and we can be dignified by standing firm in our values, even when we face challenges.

Humility and dignity can help us live fuller and more satisfying lives. I don't know if they can make us happier people, but they do help us be more connected to others, and more able to contribute to the world.
