I really do admire the passion and time and effort you put into your projects. It is not often that you can see and say that.

Whenever you do something, do it with all of your heart.
This was drilled into me as a child and time should never be of essence during the planning and designing of a project.

19 years ago I planned an English language improvement project and 2 years later we launched a pilot with 20 students. Within a few weeks the project grew to 370 students and over the years it has seen thousands of graduates.

That mentality is not valued in our era anymore! We are brought up in this consumer-fast-paced era which deems most things like that not of value.

And again, I really find the success your projects reach as an inspiration to keep on working for my own projects.

Yep, we call them the instant generation, as they want everything NOW!

Thank you and you just keep on banging away my friend.

Thank you!

The whole instant (gratification) generation is getting to me! I want to help and do good, but it sometimes feels like Sisyphus pushing the rock uphill just to see it roll down again. (If you know the Sisyphus story haha.)

Oh yeah, some Greek tale about a bad king that had to push a rock up a hill every day.
So just you keep on pushing your rock every day and I am pushing mine up the hill next to yours.

We keep on pushing that rock uphill and hopefully smile sometimes!

Oh yes, thank you so much for the selfless and generous mention in the marky mark's post! That was very nice of you to do and I really appreciate it. The next round of bread is definitely now on me. And I am very excited to be a part of this journey.

Well let's hop that someting comes of my mention, as you certainly deserve it.
So keep on pushing your rock and don't forget to smile.

Your mention alone is already worth something! And yes, we will smile doing it. I am reminded of a saying by Epictetus (I am using a little bit of creative leeway and not paraphrasing): The only thing we can change or have control over is our attitude towards things and not things themselves.

I really don't mind the mention, as you have a good heart and good writings.
Epictetus was a wise man and he had it right. I have a Greek friend that also moved down here and he is just as clever. So clever that he broke his foot falling off a wall while trying to get an owl hahaha.

Oh no! Hopefully, he broke it not too bad, and that he has a speedy recovery. Never a good (or smart) thing to run and climb after our feathered friends. I have had my fair share of close encounters!

Hahaha, you will be surprised at how often I still do this my friend,
Nope, the Greek broke it badly and they pinned it but even now he is still struggling.
Take care.

Eish, I hope he has a speedy recovery. Luckily I have never had a serious break.
Take care! May the summer have good fortune installed for us.

Nope it happened 4 years ago and he is still struggling.
Great that you haven't had anything broken and try you best to keep it that way.
Hope is the best gift that we have.

Broken bones are not something that heals without problems.
I went to Kleinmond this weekend and took some images of the fynbos flowers in the mountains, and I again had some close calls! Touch wood, hopefully, I never break something.

Just watch yourself out there mate. Heard today that my knee is kaput and must be replaced.
So in a while I will be away from here, but hopefully not for too long.

Oh damn, I am so sorry to hear. The lady next door, and my late grandfather, both had to go through it. All the best. It is even more reason to look after your body whilst you are young like me.

These things happen and we just have to accept and live through them my friend.
Yes you are right, as rather treasure your body to reap the fruits later in life.

So true. Like many things in life, we have to stomach through it and we should try to keep the smile on our faces. Not necessarily related to what we have said here, but my Grandma always said "just keep jumping" and my dad always tells me "don't just do what you enjoy but enjoy what you do".

Yes, smile is the answer. Your Grandma obviously knew the true saying . "do what you love and love what you do".
Perfect advice.

Thank you! Yes, indeed. I hope that the little rainy weather we are having today brings you good fortune.
