Misleading confusion has been cleared up

For months, I had believed impure Axies suck, because I thought their cards would never get damage bonuses if they didn't match that Axie's body type. I.e. aquas using beast cards wouldn't get damage bonus versus plants, since my Axie's body type would define damage bonus. Turns out I was really wrong. What really defines damage bonus against an Axie is actually the card type and the target's body type.

People had been largely ignoring this information. Probably because they also had trusted these (accidentally) misleading websites which still rank really high up in google searches. But teams are a lot more diverse now, as we see teams with aquas using beast cards so they can actually get through plants and dusks. There's a lot more strategy in team composition being used.

This is all great, but now, I'll have to look through purity 3+ Axies when buying a new scholar team (there are A LOT of useless Axies using this marketplace filter), not to mention how I'll have to explain that to them if they're not yet experienced as an Axie Infinity player. That's why scholarship projects nowadays barely ever accept people with zero history with the game. It's just too much work, too much risk.

Seeing this actually being applied on the arena at an MMR as low as 1100 really shows us how deep strategy and synergy in Axie Infinity can be. Back when we'd all use pure 6 Axies, the game was simpler, but it always had this many options available. I suppose that's why all the recent breeding is actually a good thing in the long term, as we'd never have enough good Axies in the marketplace otherwise.
