The act of a parrot; Inkwell prompt #130

(Edited)

Who would have thought that Jide would get married to Rose after all the romance parade he had done with Bella in the community? He was the talk of the town, and his action shocked even the elderly ones.

Just on my way to buy pepper for my mom to prepare dinner, madam Tenisha, the food seller, was gossiping about the Jide matter to one of her customers, so I pretended to drop by and act like I wanted to buy food just to get the gist of the matter since she was a close relative to the Jide family. And she said

"Hmmm, you won’t blame that boy. We all know he loves Bella so much, but it was his mom who made him make that unthoughtful decision. You know Bella is from the west, and the rumour about western girls got his mother (Jide) to visit all sorts of prophets to predict his future with Bella, and every time she got back from each prophet, they would tell her Bella was the wrong choice. I feel so bad for Bella. She is such a beautiful girl that all the guys in the area wanted. And you know, since Jide is tall, muscular, has a good-paying job, and is handsome, Rose couldn’t resist the proposal to marry him."

I checked the time and noticed 30 minutes had passed already. I rushed to the pepper seller. I got there in no time, but I was out of breath because I ran. I bought the pepper and walked home, wondering if Jide was happy in his new home. "Ending one."

I got home thinking I would get yelled at for being too slow on the errand, but I met my mother, and Iya Timilehin (Timilehin mothers) on another hot gist, which made my mom not to pay any attention to me.

I went to the kitchen, which was not too far from the living room, to drop the fresh pepper I bought and eavesdrop on the matter that could have seized my mother's attention, and Iya Timilehin went on.

"Yes, she went to his house and broke everything there. I was there, and I wanted to stop her, but what could I do? That girl had been with Jide for 8 years, and for him to let her go and marry another woman, I know I would have done worse. Come and see how she was shouting and crying at the same time. Eehhhh, even Rose couldn’t do it anything. She just stood there and watched as Jide tried to stop Bella from breaking more stuff. I was just looking at Rose…."

Wait, wait, wait," my mom cut her short and screamed my name, "Christabel! Christabel!!"

Maaaaa," I answered reluctantly as I stepped out of the kitchen to meet her. "So you are hiding in the kitchen and listening to two grown women talk. Will you go outside and play now before I bounce on you?" I immediately rushed out because I knew that she was already angry enough with me for eavesdropping on their conversations. I know for sure I’m getting my asswiped this night, but it was worth it. I also know the gist to give to my friends when we meet. "The second ending"

It’s a clever tactic to leave the second ending up to the imagination, but it’s also an escapist technique reminiscent of a “dream” ending. You do have the “juice” to write the story in its entirety. Nevertheless, an interesting premise.
