Review of the novel titled The Shack

A month ago while going through the Hive Book Club, I came across a blog by @stevenson7 titled A visit to the book store- MUCH NEEDED

In the thumbnail he used, there was a book on the shelf he took a photograph of and the book was a book I didn't finish a long time ago.

I read the book halfway and kept it back on my little shelf.

Now, I decided to back to the novel and start all over, and congratulations to me. I'm done reading the novel.

** About the book and review
The Shack is written by a talented writer named William P. Young. The book has 248 pages of reading time apart from other parts which contain the advert and publisher's address. It has 18 interesting chapters which are life-changing.

Mackenzie Allen Philips's youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation, and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in the midst of his great sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God inviting him back to that shack for the weekend.

After the death of Missy, Mack's life became miserable, he lost touch with life and abandoned the rest of his family blaming himself for what happened to Missy. How did Missy get abducted? This happened while he was trying to save his son's life who went boating with his big sister. Meanwhile, his daughter Kate has been blaming herself for Missy's death.

Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever.

After Mack arrived at the shack, what he saw there was nothing but a miracle. The old shack was new again and everything around was new. He met a woman named Papa, then Jesus was there too and a person who he really can't describe how it's appearance was named Sarayu, She was more of a spiritual being.

Mack has always blamed God for allowing Missy to die and now he is before God himself and he has the right to say or think whatever he wants. The weekend with the trinity wasn't what readers would expect because of some question that has been bothering us humans every day, Mack asked all these questions and Papa answered him. Mack has different times with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It got to a time when he was given the right to judge God and he became so confused because the test was for him to choose between any of his children, the one he is going to save and the one he is going to condemn. Because he loved each of them uniquely, he couldn't make that choice and the wisdom of God (Sophie) told him that was one of the positions God has been in all this time.

He loves all humans equally even when they trespass against him. So choosing the one to save and the one to condemn isn't an easy choice. There are other sanctions in the novel that brings enlightenment and can change your life.

In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant, The Shack wrestles with the timeless question "where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answer mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him.

This is a great book and anyone who comes across it will never regret picking it up.
