My first season in RABONA and some tips for new players

Hello, guys!

This is my first season playing Rabona and I want to share some things about the game with you.

If you don't already know, Rabona is a soccer management game built on Hive.

In Rabona, you're a manager of a soccer team and have to decide on various aspects that range from setting up your team's roster to defining the price at which a fan shirt will be sold.

The game token is the RBN and you can trade it on the in-game exchange for PEG.HIVE which is a token pegged to Hive.

The players in Rabona are fictional, with the exception of the collectible NFT's editions which are based on real players.

At the moment, each team has 9 buildings: Stadium, Catering, Shop, Hotel, Parking Lot, Office Building, Building Yard, Youth Academy and Training Center. Each building can be upgraded up to level 15.

Some of them like the Hotel and the Parking Lot are always profitable as long as you get enough attendance in your home games to use the available spaces. Others, such as the shop, which allows the sale of fan shirts and fan scarfs, will initially have a small loss, as the maintenance cost is very high and you probably won't sell enough to cover these costs.

Basically the game is about managing the financials while preparing a winning team.

I'm in League 3 ID: 694. The season isn't over yet, but I managed to become Champion three rounds to go.

At first, I intended to use this season to learn more about the game little by little, but soon I realized that there's no advantage in staying in League 3. I'll explain to you:

Currently, Rabona has a seasonal reward of 400 Hive, but it's only paid to teams in League 2 or higher. It means that in League 3 you will only get a small amount of RBN. As in the beginning, your team will not have upgraded buildings, nor many fans, even if you manage your finances well and be profitable, you will not earn anything that is really rewarding.

I'm not just saying this for the rewards, because I'm playing Rabona for the love of football. The issue is that League 3 isn't a really competitive environment either, as it's the entry point for Rabona players.

Whether you just want to use the initial resources or want to take your time along the way, I respect your decision. But I assure you that time is of the essence in this game. For example, look at the time it takes for buildings to be upgraded:

The maximum you can reduce this time is 33% with Building Yard, but it would still take you months to upgrade it to that point.

That's why my advice is, despite the game guide's recommendations, if you want to be competitive in the higher leagues, upgrade everything as quickly as possible. It's not that the guide is wrong, it's just that it shows you a way to be profitable and manage your finances well from the start. But just like in real life a small club won't usually change its status just by managing its finances, it won't be that easy here either.

The good news is that it doesn't take a lot of money. I haven't made practically any investment in the game so far. I'm just spending the 1,025,000 RBN I started plus what I got for referring a friend to the game (0.5 HIVE).

So make a strong team before your opponents do. In my league, for example, there are 4 or 5 strong teams at the moment, but some took longer and that's why they were left out of the title fight. Remember that only the champion of each league gets promoted.

Oh, and before I forget, don't sign the Advertising contracts. In the League 3, all the offers that I've received and that I've seen other teams sign are the same: 104,170 RBN per Season. The contract duration is ranging from 3-5 seasons and in the League 2 you get a contract 4 times better. So, if you intend to at least move up to League 2 as soon as possible, signing the initial contract is a waste of money.

The game is simple, fun and has great potential. Of course, there is still a lot to improve, such as the possibility of individual training and more tactical and strategic options in games, but that is for another post.

Well, if you like Soccer and Crypto, you should play Rabona! If you want, you can use my Referral Link and earn up to $0.40 in RBN!

I'll keep posting here my progress. Keep an eye out for Galo Doido, the next Champion of Champions.

And congrats to the Straw Hat Pirates for the League of Champions title!
