Hoy les quiero compartir unas de las cosas que he hecho en las últimas semanas. Se trata de una práctica de dibujar insectos.
Today I want to share with you some stuff I have been doing the last couple of weeks, it is about drawing insects.
Si, se que dibujar insectos puede parecer poco emocionante, pero existe un propósito detrás de estos pequeños amiguitos.
Yes, I know drawing insects couldn't be so exciting, but there is a purpose behind drawing these little friends.
Este ejercicio tiene 3 fases:
La fase 1 es hacer los insectos usando las figuras básicas.
La fase 2, se utilizan las figuras básicas en conjunto para crear figuras mas complejas y detallar.
La fase 3 es repetir lo anterior añadiendo texturas y sombras.
This exercise has 3 phases:
Phase 1 is to make the insects using the basic figures.
Phase 2 is to use the same basic figures together to make more complex figures and draw details.
Phase 3 is to repeat the above by adding textures and shadows.

La idea de esta práctica es "desarmar" la estructura de los insectos en figuras básicas y aumentar nuestra biblioteca visual.
The idea of this practice is to "disassemble" the structure of the insects into basic figures and increase our visual library.

Muchos de estos animales se pueden simplificar en esferas, óvalos, cilindros o palitos, solos o todos en conjunto, la idea es usar estas figuras básicas como guía e ir añadiendo los detalles de a poco.
Many of these animals can be simplified into spheres, ovals, cylinders or sticks, alone or all together, the idea is to use these basic figures as a guide and add details little by little.

Y al final, añadir texturas con un poco de crosshtach para definir un punto de foco.
And at the end, add textures with a little crosshatch to define a focal point.
Inesperadamente, dibujar insectos fue más difícil y entretenido de lo que esperaba. Igual nadie va a leer lo que escribo, aunque lo de simplificar los objetos es un datazo.

Unexpectedly, drawing insects was more difficult and entertaining than I expected. Nobody is going to read what I said anyway, despite simplification of the objects is a great hint to consider.
