During my introduction post, I mentioned that I am from Guiuan Eastern Samar.

Guiuan Eastern Samar is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Eastern Samar, Philippines.
Since the pandemic hit I've been longing to go home to see my family.

It was such a pain not seeing them for a year. I usually visit my family 4 to 5 times a year since moving to Cebu City.
Last April before the holy week I decided to go home the moment they removed the 14-day quarantine and process my paper.

I made sure that my papers were complete; these are the documents I prepared before traveling;

  • Certificate from the Barangay where I live here in Cebu City stating I am not PUM or PUI.
  • Certificate of Residency from my Barangay in Guiuan Eastern Samar
  • Letter of Acceptance from our Municipality.
  • Download the Traze APP to scan at the airport

The moment I arrived at Daniel Z. Romualdez Aiport in Tacloban City they ask me to scan the QR code via the Traze app and fill out the information.

It was such a relief the moment I arrived in my hometown, the first thing I asked my Aunt is to prepare fish for my lunch. It is something that I was looking forward to when I was planning my trip. Our town is known for fresh and inexpensive kinds of seafood.
Guiuan has many scenic spots. Being a coastal town on the Pacific side, our town has many white-sand beaches that are suitable for swimming and surfing.
And you have to stay tuned because I will post and give you a tour of some famous places that our town has to offer.

Going back, my friend Alyyssa is kind enough to pick me up at the terminal and drove me home. I was welcomed with a great smile and hugs from Auntie's and my Dad.

Instead of them asking about my trip they already knew that I will look for something to eat and when I went to the kitchen my heart was so happy to see my favorite food prepared just to satisfy my cravings.

For not seeing me for a year they have a lot of questions and they were so worried about me and of course my health.

My first night was amazing as I get the chance to bond with them.
My cousins were there too and some of our relatives.

The next day my friends invited me to go out for lunch and as expected instead of going out around noon they pick me up at 2:00 PM and had our lunch/dinner at Balay ni Tito Joven.

We stayed there for a couple of hours and watch the sunset while enjoying a bottle of beer (PS: Di ko palahubog). 🀭🀫

The next day I visited my mom together with my dad at the cemetery. It brought me to tears as I can still believe that she's gone but I know she's in a good place watching us.

It is always on my list to visit and attend mass at San Antonio de Padua Church in Sulangan and Immaculate Conception Church in my town.

I've been going out most of the time during my vacation because I know how hard it is to travel. We went to the beach and share it with my good friends and roam around as if it was my first time visiting the place.

I can't wait to go back and visit them again and to spend more time and experience the simple life in the province.
Until next time hivers. πŸ₯°πŸ˜πŸ˜˜
