Standing still

One of the prettiest echeveria flowers I own in monochrome version. Prettiest and the only yellow I have as most of them have some shade of red or orange.
But it is not about the colour here obviously. Today we shall admire the shapes, shadows and textures.

I still don't have the full ID for this one, but I have only one like this so there is no way to confuse it with anything else.

The flowers have this perfect bell shape on top of a quite long stem. Each flower doesn't last last very long, but they bloom one by one and each rosette can produce few of them in the same time too.

The flowers are cute, but they do look better in colour.
But look at the leaves! Those definitely look great in the monochromes. They are very pale green with the delicate white dust coating on them that comes off with every touch. The places when the farina (that's what the dusty layer is called) is missing is not very visible in colour.

But turning in into monochrome and playing a bit more with contrast I got all the little imperfections and shading pop. I feeling love it!

They look like they are made of concrete.

Truly beautiful, the b&w makes them look like sculptures made of some unknown mystical material

I also love my Sigma 105mm Macro. Wonderful macros.
You know that I love my colors, yet for your subject, the BnW gets a super juicy contrast. Nicely done.
