Travel notes. Shalimovo

Shalimovo is a village in Cherepovets district of Vologda region, a part of Yugsky rural settlement. It is located on a high hill next to the Bolshoy Yug River. The population is just over a hundred people. The distance to Cherepovets is 55 km.

An ordinary village, ordinary houses.

It's like everywhere else, I've seen it many times.

What can surprise me in an ordinary village?

So, wait, a dugout?

There are a lot of them here!

Why is there a separate vegetable storage in the village if every house has a cellar?

As long as I have been in villages, as long as I have been in houses, there is always a basement in a ordinary hut where you can store vegetables.

Why build a separate dugout, and even several?

And then I was even more surprised that there is a dugout in almost every yard of every house! And it happens in many villages that we passed by.

If I've never paid attention to them, it doesn't mean that I haven't noticed them at all. But in the villages there are only baths and occasionally woodsheds. This is the first time I've seen dugouts in such places.
