But time cruelly sifts out everything unnecessary and only the best, or at least significant, remains.

That is, my postcards and postcard pictures of fellow photographers will stay online longer than amateur pictures of poor quality.

Social media is a good place to show off.

But if the pictures are used in various serious communities, on the websites of government bodies, in print media, in advertising, then such ways to "perpetuate" oneself will be much more effective.
