Holidays in Kirillov

In the first part there was a reportage look at the event itself, dedicated to the fish competition theme, and in this part I want to show an abstract look at what is happening around during the holiday.

On that day, the city of Kirillov celebrated its birthday. Many people came not only from all over the region, but also from other regions.

If it were not for the fish theme of the holiday, then everything looked like ordinary festivities during the city day.

I love crowds like this! After all, people are important in street photography, and when there are a lot of them, then there will be more subjects.

After a completed reportage, before summing up, free time appears and this is the best time!

I can go there I want and shoot what I see!

I felt myself again the same way as it was in 2019, when I simply infiltrated some outlying ghettos, where real life was in full swing, merged with the atmosphere where nobody noticed me, and I filmed all!

I could go up to the most seemingly crazy young guys and shoot how they dive into the backwater from some concrete thing with rebar sticking out.

Moreover, I did it so brazenly that I almost took it point-blank. At first, everyone is shy, then they start posing, and then they just don’t notice that I’m not there at all.

It was the highest skill in my practice. But now I somehow moved away from this.

Although if I want, I can resume it all. The experience remains!

The holiday itself is also interesting in its texture, but not in Kirillov.

Looking ahead, I will say that there will be much more colorful holidays.

In Kirillov, I liked the integration of everyday life into a holiday, where people sunbathe under the walls of the monastery near to the competitors.

Where people bathe next to the site where the fair is located.

Where young guys jump into the lake from the pier, where people are waiting for their turn to rent a boat.

And most importantly - everyone is happy with everything! And me too!
