Shooting Day!

Redneck mode on!

Pretty much in my element in here, even though I’ve only shot a few times in my life. It doesn’t hurt I look good in camo green.

Sadly we didn’t have much ammo and most of it went to calibrating the scope. It was still fun though. It’s not like we were lazy or anything but I took pictures of the target cardboard and zoomed in so we didn’t have to walk the 50 meters and back to see the shots clearly.

Work smarter, not harder.

There's an ammo shortage in Finland too? Glad you had enough to zero your scope!

I haven't been shooting since early in the pandemic because I don't want to use my ammo. If the apocalypse hits, I'm thinking my bullets will be more valuable than my Bitcoin 😄.

No shortage here, Lapua and Sako are on it 😁 We just didn’t take enough with us when going to the cabin. We did just talk about the ammo shortage over there in the US.

Are people allowed to order ammo online in Finland? I used to love coming home from work and finding a box of 5,000 22LR rounds sitting in front of my door. Now all of the ammo sites are either out of stock or charging insane prices ☹️.

One of these days I'll have to make a post about my 10/22 Backpacker. I'm hesitant to put any of my guns on the blockchain, but I think the backpacker setup is just so cool.

Yes we are. But overall, our gun laws are stricker here than they are over there.

If you are hesitant, you could create another account, a more anonumous one and use that to just post gun related stuff :)

I get this, but maybe a post about it in a more general nature? Some images that don't make you feel uncomfortable. If so feel free to use this community. :)

This is probably true, and also about other items that a prepared person may have around. I had some issues with powder and projectiles but bought up big so won't have any issues with supply for any of my calibres. I keep a fairly healthy stock of ammunition for my calibres and have the components to make more. It's times like this when I value the ability to make my own ammunition.

Ok, so this is a pew group and we want to know rifle details! From the looks of it, and the ammo, this is a .22 Rimfire with a suppressor. What make/model of rifle and suppressor? I'll be it was fun! I love shooting suppressed now, no ear protection required and doesn't echo up and down the whole valley! I was also shooting this weekend, but something a little bigger and louder. Will post later today.

Maybe I left out the details so you’d have to comment and ask! CBC 7022 with Oulun Työstökeskus SAK suppressor. It was quite the difference shooting with and without suppressor, definitely prefer to not use the ear muffs 😝 I’m working my way up to the big guns, I’ll promise to share as I go 😛

Yes, I can actually picture you as a master manipulator quite easily, ...and it worked! lol

It's great to see you having a shoot. What did you think of the process of zeroing the scope? Was it demounted, a fresh set up, or was it just a check-zero?

Also, I can see some issues with your prone position - Mainy...Your legs should be wider apart and the inner of your feet turned outwards, instep flat to the ground, not rested up on your toes. Of course, this will make little difference at 50m and with a .22LR but with a larger calibre it will make a big difference. Being well-grounded handles recoil better. I'm just being picky though Eve. 😁

Great that you're shooting, I figured you might considering you were up north. I hope you had a great weekend - Have a good week, I'm sure I'll catch you around.

The scope was previously mounted on another gun, I think. I let the pro handle the zeroing and unpatiently waited. I actually told him to leave it as is when it was close enough and adjusted my shots accordingly 😅

Yes yes I know, I need to learn the proper position early on so I don’t have to unlearn bad habits later. We’ll take more ammo next time, and more time to shoot :)

Lol.

As a long range shooter this comment drives me bonkers.

Legit.

It's good to see you getting into it though, and clearly enjoying it. Nice work.
