Evening Bunny Hunt
Ending the week and Sunday evening in a Finnish forest, trying to find rabbits. We were out there for almost two hours without the doggo finding anything so we decided to head back to the car, that’s obviously when the animals come to play. The dog started barking to signal it was onto something, always the exciting part.
I’m not the most patient as a hunting buddy, I get bored if I have to sit around and wait, I’m more into sneaking after the prey and finding things to photograph along the way. I get into it though when something starts to happen.
We did eventually see the bunny but it got away, I didn’t even have a chance to snap a picture. It was getting dark fast and we did keep on looking for it with no luck. The dog worked well though and I got pics so that was good. All in all, a good evening out in the woods.
very cool.
Sorry there was no fresh food, but great that the dog is doing well, and hopefully, more success next time!
We only had wine for dinner, so sad, almost starving!
what's the point of even going on...???
I've never seen anyone hunt rabbits (especially in the evening) around here - other than lazy shots across a field. Around here, they would typically trap. Often, they would then simply farm them after they trapped them.
Farm rabbits!? As in there is not enough rabbits unless you farm them!? 😂
People are lazy/efficient.
Catch a couple females and a male ... play some nice music ... spread some carrot peels over the bed and ... let Mother Nature do it's thing.
This pictures are really nice...the black and white choice made it look more beautiful...I love to see beautiful pictures like this
Thanks! I like taking bw in general even though nature photos are more rarely taken in bw.
Good looking dog, fun day! My dog is way to timid to take along when hunting. But it does look like a good time!
🤠
Is your dog so domesticated that it doesn’t have the urge to go after some animals? 😅
No, he is a rescue that was badly beaten as a puppy. I have worked with him for 4 years, and he's beginning to act more like a dog now, and he likes to "sing", LOL! 😆
We are moving to the country, then we will see about his instincts. But he is becoming pretty sweet, as he understands he won't be hurt.
🤠🤕👍
What kind of dog is he and for what kind of "work" is their kind usually used for? Congratulations on the move to the country, that's real nice for you.
He's a full sized dachshund, intended to go down holes after badgers. We rescue and re-home this breed, but he was too damaged by abuse to give away. So we kept him to try to fix his problems. He's getting better, slowly.
His "job"here is watchdog, and he just put his front feet up on the side of the bed for petting; so he's getting better. It's been 3 years getting him to trust me this much.
But I think the move to the country will be good for him too!
🤠💙👍
