Deer Dinner

Here’s a very casual weekday dinner of venison sirloin, new potatoes and red wine sauce I cooked today. Why not eh?

I found a nice piece of deer sirloin from the basement freezer, remembered I had some ready-made red wine sauce in the cupboard and used up the rest of the new potatoes we got from my in-laws. Dinner well planned and just about enough time for the meat to thaw.

It was really a super easy but very delicious and luxurious dinner. I rolled the sirloin in freshly ground peppers and gourmet salt well in advance before pan frying, tweaked the sauce and let it reduce, and boiled the potatoes. Let the meat rest, cut, plate, top the potatoes with a knob of butter and spring onions, easy.

I most definitely poured a very generous amount of sauce onto my plate right after taking these quick hungry snaps. Sauce is life.

This reminds me, I have venison steaks in the freezer. I must get them cooked up one of these days. That meal looks delicious.

I was just winging it, as per usual but I think I did good with the meat. I took the skinny end of the meat because I like mine on the medium plus side.

Medium plus works for me too.

That's a hint for an invite. 😉

looks delicious! some mashed potatoes, instead, to suck up all that sauce and... orgasm!

Yes mashed potatoes would be the go-to, but now we have new season potatoes which are superior to everything 😁
