Blood and Guts(y)
Let me set the scene: you are a security guard and someone comes to you yelling frantically that there has been a stabbing and people need help. You rush to the scene, have to assess the situation and threat level and triage people to see who needs help first.
So yeah, this is what I have been photographing for a living this week, or a part of these kind of training scenarios for security guards. Most of your basic security guards have very little training so the company I shoot for offers extra training, and they don't do it like anyone else would.
The trainers had done a MacGyver worthy gadget from a windshield washer reservoir to spew up some blood when the actors who play victims press a button. It was pretty hilarious. I'm pretty sure the guy in a dark jacket has actually done some acting before because he was soooo in character, shaking like in a shock and even managed to look pale.
These kind of days are super fun to shoot, though often very hectic and demanding. I usually have pretty free range on what I shoot and how I post process, as long as they get a lot of material for future training and marketing purposes. Their instagram is looking way better these days because of me.
Just do your thing girl :)
Well I always do but sometimes I can take input 😁
That last photo is my fav :)
Not as pretty as your usual stuff but the world has an ugly side too.
You telling me these pictures are ugly? 😝
The photos are great but the show an ugly side of life.
He is a good actor! Grey sweatpants guy - I like these shoots. You know what I really would like to see is the background. Those posters and graffiti. The scruffy side of town. We have lots of that here. Mostly in places I'm super uncomfortable to shoot in. I know that sounds pretty wimpy but... Hmmmm. How to do it without getting robbed or beaten up? Haha.
There really isn’t much of that here. This is close to downtown and just behind a consert venue but right next to this are big fancy office buildings. I’ll be posting more from inside the venue so you might see a bit of what you hope for 😁 I’ve always felt safe in here and regarly walk alone at night.
