Mochima -Tierra de muchas aguas-Venezuela /Mochima -Land of many waters-Venezuela

Mochima National Park is located between the states of Sucre and Anzoátegui in Venezuela.
It is a natural park formed by mountains that end up being sea, beaches, islands, bays, coral reefs and beautiful inlets.

El parque nacional Mochima está situado entre los estados Sucre y Anzoátegui en Venezuela.
Es un parque natural formado por montañas que terminan siendo mar, playas, islas, bahías, arrecifes de coral y hermosas ensenadas.

"Mochima" is an indigenous word of the Cumanagotos Indians that means "land of many waters".
It is fascinating to navigate those crystal clear waters of infinite shades of green, blue and turquoise.

My family group and I gathered to enjoy a day in this paradise, which is also very close to home.

To get to Mochima you have to take a winding road that is quite narrow and connects the aforementioned states.

Suddenly a fence announces the entrance to the town that is also called Mochima and there is a steep descent that leads to the place. When you get there you can see the little houses painted in bright and cheerful colors and many local boys offering their services of transfer in the boat to the different islands.

"Mochima" es una palabra indígena de los indios cumanagotos que significa “tierra de muchas aguas”
Es fascinante navegar esas aguas cristalinas de infinitas tonalidades, verdes, azules y turquesa.

Mi grupo familiar y yo nos reunimos para disfrutar un día en ese paraíso que además queda muy cerca de casa.

Para llegar a Mochima hay que tomar una carretera de curvas que es bastante estrecha y que comunica los estados antes mencionados.

De pronto una valla anuncia la entrada del pueblo que también se llama Mochima y hay una empinada bajada que conduce hasta el lugar. Al llegar allí se observan las casitas pintadas de colores luminosos y alegres y muchos chicos del lugar ofreciendo sus servicios de traslado en el bote hasta las diferentes islas.

We had previously hired Carlitos and he was waiting for us with his boat.

Nosotros ya habíamos contratado previamente a Carlitos y nos estaba esperando con su bote.

At the last minute they changed our boat for a slightly larger one.

A última hora nos cambiaron el bote por uno un poco más grande.

There were 18 of us, including the children, and we boarded the boat that would first take us on a tour of the site and then drop us off at Playa Blanca. In the afternoon at around 5.00 pm he would come back to pick us up.

Éramos 18 personas, incluyendo a los niños y abordamos el bote que nos haría primero un recorrido por el lugar y luego nos dejaría en Playa Blanca. En la tarde a elrededor de las 5.00 pm regresaría a buscarnos.

This place is a facility equipped to celebrate weddings and parties. They can be rented for such purposes.

Este lugar son instalaciones acondicionadas para celebrar bodas, y fiestas. Se pueden alquilar para tales fines.

You can observe millenary rock formations that are truly impressive.

Se pueden observar formaciones rocosas milenarias que son realmente impresionantes.

These landscapes are unique, I wonder what that rock is doing there in the middle of the sea, so different from the other one nearby. These are mysteries that I would like to know.

Estos paisajes son únicos, me pregunto que hace esa roca ahí en medio del mar, tan diferente a la otra cercana. Son misterios que me gustaría conocer.

My granddaughter and her father could not resist the temptation to dive into the turquoise waters. They swam for a while enjoying the seabed.

This tour through the calm waters of Mochima is like being inside a dream. The only thing we regretted was that that day we did not see the dolphins that are always playing there, but what more could we ask for?

Mi nieta y su padre no aguantaron la tentación de zambullirse en las aguas color turquesa. Nadaron un buen rato disfrutando del fondo marino.

Hacer este recorrido por las tranquilas aguas de Mochima es como estar dentro de un sueño. Lo único que lamentamos fue que ese día no se dejaron ver los delfines que siempre están jugando por allí, pero que más podíamos pedir...

The seawater in these coves is crystal clear and from the boat you can see the corals and marine fauna.

El agua de mar en estas ensenadas es totalmente cristalina y desde el bote se pueden apreciar los corales y la fauna marina.

¡Playa blanca! Un paraíso en Mochima

Here is the delicious fried fish dish (catalana) with arepas and fried plantain that we enjoyed. Every day the people in charge of this island bring the food they are going to prepare on the stove, as well as everything they need to offer a good service to those who visit Playa Blanca.

Aquí está el delicioso plato de pescado frito (catalana) con arepas y plátano frito que disfrutamos. Cada día las personas encargadas de esta isla llevan la comida que van a preparar en los fogones, además de todo lo necesario para ofrecer un buen servicio a quienes visitan Playa Blanca.

We all had a great time, it was a pretty quiet day. The kids played in the sand and ate ice cream from this cute little cart that also cooled off on the shore.

Todos lo pasamos muy bien, fue un día bastante tranquilo. Los niños jugaron en la arena y comieron helados que vendían en este simpatico carrito que tambien se refrescaba en la orilla.

Nothing compares to enjoying an afternoon in the calm waters of the Caribbean, when the evening begins to decline.

The feeling of peace and the lullaby of the waves produce a very special sensation of well-being.

Nada se puede comparar con disfrutar una tarde en las tranquilas aguas del Caribe, cuando la tarde comienza a declinar.

La sensación de paz y el arrullo de las olas producen una sensación de bienestar muy especial.

The time to return was approaching and no one wanted that moment to come. Time does not stand still and we had to get on the boat, return to the town of Mochima and start our way back home.

Se acercaba la hora del regreso y nadie quería que ese momento llegara. El tiempo no se detiene y debíamos subir al bote, regresar al pueblo de Mochima y emprender el regreso a casa.

Returning to the village, we were able to compare the changes in nature and admire the reflections of the sun when the evening falls. It seems that the sea is filled with stars.

Al regresar al pueblo pudimos comparar los cambios de la naturaleza y admirar los reflejos del sol cuando cae la tarde. Parece que el mar se llena de estrellas.

The sun, the weather, the freshness of the sea, everything was perfect. On our return some clouds foretold rain, but we didn't care. Mochima Incredible!

El sol, el clima, la frescura del mar, todo fue perfecto. A nuestro regreso unas nubes presagiaban lluvia, pero ya no nos importó. Mochima ¡Increíble!
