WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS

This is my response to the dreemport challenge for this week

Spoon-feeding is not necessarily giving the person food or buying things for other people, my definition of spoon-feeding is different from the food aspect.

I helped a friend this week and I was so happy to do that, I got a call from a friend and she was lamenting about the economy of the country, I had no money to give her at that moment, even if I gave her money how many days will the money lasted for.

I was moved by her story because I understood every part of the story, I immediately called one of my bosses that I had worked with in the past, I explained her condition to my boss and she decided to employ her, she told me to send her CV to her email which I quickly did.

The woman told me that I called at the right time because one of the positions in her company was vacant and she needed an immediate replacement for the person that left, I forwarded the CV to her email and called my friend to be ready for their call.

When I called her to share the good news with her she was so happy and was crying on the phone, the had been job hunting for years and this suddenly worked for her, I was extremely happy that I could help someone.

She went for the interview on Tuesday because we discussed it on Saturday, the woman called me today and told me she passed the interview that she is qualified for the position and that HR will send an email to her over the weekend so that she can start work on Monday.

I was glad that I could help and she would be okay on her own without depending on anyone, at least she would be earning great in that company and all her story would now be history, I helped her not because she was my friend but because I care about people around me, no amount of money I can give her that will solve her problem and I do not like to be giving people excuses when they demand from me.

I do not expect anything in return from her, I believe that when she is okay then I am okay as well, another burden is lifted from me, there will not be a good bond between us if I complain to her anytime she asks anything from me.

This is how I define spoon-feeding, at the end of the month she will be able to buy anything from her salary and this is the way that I can help her.

Thank you for reading my post, this is my entry for this week's#dreemport challenge.

Definitely, we don't grow in isolation. We must learn to help others and be helped too.

No one ever got to the top alone. We all need each other's help and with your mindset, you are going places.

Omo, God bless you ma, see how I am so excited like I was the one you did it for. Even if you don't get anything at all in return, isn't the joy the woman called to tell you about getting the job more than enough? Moreover, your labor won't go in vain.

Helping out is the greatest gift one can get and received. The happiness alone is corresponded to nothing

How wonderful that both you and your ex-boss were in a position to help your friend. Right time right place... and a bit of Grace thrown in for good measure. Hope you are having a good week, dreemer. I dropped in from Dreemport this evening and got your post in my random 5. It has left me with some feel-good factor hehe to close out my evening's curation.
