IF MY PEOPLE…

Hello and a happy new week to you all in this great community and I hope you all had a wonderful time during the weekend.

Today I am here to remind us that humility is one way of getting something from God.

We understand from the scriptures that it is always Gods desire to bless his people and turn things around for them for the better.

Remember, during the dedication of the newly built temple of God in Jerusalem, king Solomon prayed a prayer of consecration and asked God to answer any prayer of any Israelite facing the temple or in the temple.

And he also added that God should forgive every sinner that has confessed genuinely. In answer to his prayer, God appeared to him by night and made a promise to him.

And that promise was; “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray, and seek [His] face, and turn from their wicked ways” (2cronicles.7:14)

There is an important lesson you should note here, that God made this promise to his covenant people. By covenant people, I mean those who had made any covenant with him through repentance.

He knew before time that there be most likely a time where his covenant people will backslide and turn their backs on him.

But the uniform teaching of God’s word is that wherever he finds sin he judges it, except it is repented of.

But the first step for you to be in the covenant of the father is to go to him in repentance and with humility.

This is because humility makes you feel wrong and sorry for something you did wrong.

And the good news is, if you will humbly go to God this as a sinner or backslider, repent of your sins, earnestly plead for his mercy and forgiveness and surely forsake those sins completely.

He’ll will forgive and favor you. So what are you waiting for to enjoy the blessings of the covenant.
