Celebrando en el Emperador Chino el día de San Valentín | Celebrating at the Chinese Emperor on Valentine's Day

Cómo era día del amor y la amistad, mi amigo Luis decide invitarme a almorzar en El Emperador Chino. Yo le había comentado que podríamos prepararlo juntos pero nada como ir a nuestro restaurante favorito aprovechando que estamos por estos lados. En Arauca, Colombia está ubicado este increíble restaurante donde tienen un sazón increíble en sus comidas.

How was the day of love and friendship, my friend Luis decides to invite me to lunch at El Emperador Chino. I had told him that we could prepare it together but nothing like going to our favorite restaurant taking advantage of the fact that we are around here. In Arauca, Colombia is located this incredible restaurant where they have an incredible seasoning in their meals

Así que nuestro día comenzó arreglandonos, era una cita de amigos. Solo nosotros dos disfrutando del arroz especial que siempre pedímos, el preferido. Recuerdo que en nuestra estadía por Arauca, Colombia logramos ir varias veces a este restaurante porque es tan bueno que siempre será una opción para nosotros. Debo decir que la temperatura en Arauca estaba a 33° grados y hacía demasiado calor.

So our day started by getting ready, it was a friends date. Just the two of us enjoying the special rice that we always ask for, the favorite. I remember that during our stay in Arauca, Colombia, we managed to go to this restaurant several times because it is so good that it will always be an option for us. I must say that the temperature in Arauca was 33 degrees and it was too hot.

Al pasar por canoa a Colombia, hicimos unas diligencias primero para luego irnos al restaurante antes de quedarnos sin mesa ya que era un día especial y supusimos que estaría lleno temprano. No queríamos tener que esperar así que antes de las 12 del medio día, hora colombiana, ya estábamos en el emperador.

Going by canoe to Colombia, we did some errands first and then went to the restaurant before running out of a table since it was a special day and we assumed it would be full early. We didn't want to have to wait, so before 12 noon, Colombian time, we were already at the Emperor.

Llegamos al restaurante, tomaron nuestro pedido. Pedimos un plato de arroz chino especial para dos, una porción de papas fritas, costillas agridulces y dos aguas. No habían lumpias y claro que queríamos pero por esto, pedí la porción de papas para mí y como le estoy bajando al azúcar no pude comer costillas agridulces. El arroz tenía, pollo, tocineta, cerdo, camarones, jamón y carne de res.

We got to the restaurant, they took our order. We ordered a special Chinese rice dish for two, a side of French fries, sweet and sour ribs, and two waters. There were no lumpias and of course we wanted but because of this, I ordered the portion of potatoes for myself and since I'm cutting down on sugar I couldn't eat sweet and sour ribs. The had rice, chicken, bacon, pork, shrimp, ham, and beef.

Esperamos volver en una próxima oportunidad y poder comer las lumpias aquí porque son realmente increíbles. Estoy feliz por haber podido compartir este día con mi gran amigo Luis y haber pasado el día diferente. Me encanta venir aquí y poder pasar tiempo con mis amigos y mi familia. El emperador chino siempre será mi preferido. Todo lo que pedimos salió en 60 mil pesos colombianos lo que es equivalente a 15,5 USD.

We hope to return in the next opportunity and be able to eat the lumpias here because they are really incredible. I am happy to have been able to share this day with my great friend Luis and to have had a different day. I love coming here and being able to spend time with my friends and family. The Chinese emperor will always be my favourite. Everything we ordered came out at 60 thousand Colombian pesos which is equivalent to 15.5 USD.

Al salir del restaurante, decidimos caminar un poco, quedamos muy llenos y no quedó nada en nuestros platos. Fuimos a varios supermercados a buscar las achiras que probé por primera vez en Medellín pero no las he conseguido aquí. Nos cansamos de caminar y nada. Lo que si pudimos hacer ante tanto sol fué comprar varias aguas para hidratarnos. Mi amigo Luis hizo una parada en una tienda y me regaló una rosa blanca por este día.

Leaving the restaurant we decided to walk a bit, we were very full and there was nothing left on our plates. We went to several supermarkets to look for the achiras that I tried for the first time in Medellín but I have not found them here. We get tired of walking and nothing. What we could do in the face of so much sun was to buy several waters to hydrate ourselves. My friend Luis made a stop at a store and gave me a white rose for this day.

Sigo aquí por estos lados y espero pronto volver a casa porque la extraño y quiero seguir aprendiendo y preparando más recetas para compartir en mi blog desde allí. Me gusta mucho este restaurante por el sabor de su comida pero la atención no fue muy buena, aunque fueron amables. Estaban muy desorganizados ayer. Realmente no siempre son así.

I'm still here in these parts and I hope to return home soon because I miss it and I want to continue learning and preparing more recipes to share on my blog from there. I really like this restaurant because of the taste of its food, but the service was not very good, although they were friendly. They were very disorganized yesterday. They really aren't always like that.
