Un encargo lleno de amor || A commission filled with love 💕
¡Hola Chicos!
Hoy les contaré un poco sobre el primero de dos encargos bastante particulares que en definitiva me sacaron de mi zona de confort y que gracias a ellos pude aprender de nuevas experiencias.
Un día recibí un mensaje de una cliente que me preguntó "Estefania tu trabajas pintando franelas?". A esto le respondí que si, aunque solo he pintado sobre tela en dos ocasiones jajaja es diferente, si, pero no es algo que me asuste porque ya se como se trabaja con esa pintura.
Inmediatamente ella me pasó una imagen y acá comenzaba la aventura. Lo primero era conseguir una franela de calidad. Últimamente me ha costado mucho encontrar en la ciudad una tienda donde vendan franelas unicolor de buena calidad.
En la tienda El Castillo venden franelas, pero la calidad a veces no es tan buena. Al ser una franela blanca no debía verse transparente, entonces decidí recorrer otras tiendas y por suerte encontré una dónde tenían una de buena calidad. Aunque costaba el doble era mucho mejor que algo económico con lo que no me sintiera cómoda trabajando.

Today I'll tell you a little about the first of two rather unusual commissions that definitely took me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to learn from new experiences.
One day I received a message from a client who asked me, "Estefania, do you paint t-shirts?" I replied that yes, although I've only painted on fabric twice before, haha. It's different, yes, but it's not something that scares me because I already know how to work with that paint.
She immediately sent me a picture, and that's where the adventure began. The first thing was to get a good quality t-shirt. Lately, it's been really hard to find a store in the city that sells good quality, solid-color t-shirts.
The El Castillo store sells t-shirts, but the quality isn't always that great. Since it was a white t-shirt, it shouldn't be see-through, so I decided to check out other stores, and luckily I found one that had a good quality one. Although it cost twice as much, it was much better than something cheap that I didn't feel comfortable working with.
Al llegar a casa y luego de salir de unos pendientes, me puse manos a la obra. El diseño era bien sencillo así que lo tracé rápidamente en papel y luego lo llevé a la franela.
Acá es donde comencé a asustarme un poco porque si me equivocaba trazando el boceto todo se arruinaría. La franela era blanca y no había chance de equivocarme.
Pero el mayor trauma no fue ese, sino cuando tomé la pintura roja para aplicarla. Yo soy un poco desastrosa a la hora de pintar y esto me tenía sumamente nerviosa porque pensaba que en cualquier momento podía llenar de pintura una zona que no iba pintada.
When I got home and finished a few errands, I got to work. The design was quite simple, so I quickly sketched it on paper and then transferred it to the flannel.
This is where I started to get a little nervous because if I made a mistake in the sketch, everything would be ruined. The flannel was white, so there was no chance of making a mistake.
But the biggest scare wasn't that; it was when I picked up the red paint to apply it. I'm a bit of a disaster when it comes to painting, and this made me extremely anxious because I thought I might accidentally get paint all over an area that wasn't supposed to be painted.
Pero luego me adapté a pintar más con mayor cuidado y todo fue fluyendo bien.
Pinté las letras dentro del corazón como me pidieron pero no me gustaron, y definitivamente no se podía solucionar. Así que luego de unos ajustes e intentos de borrarlas, pude sentirme un poco más cómoda con ellas.
Luego pinté los otros detalles y por último unas líneas en negro que también me pusieron algo tensa.
But then I adapted to painting more carefully, and everything flowed smoothly.
I painted the letters inside the heart as requested, but I didn't like them, and there was definitely no way to fix it. So, after some adjustments and attempts to erase them, I felt a little more comfortable with them.
Then I painted the other details and finally some black lines, which also made me a bit nervous.
La pinté súper rápido y me gustó bastante el resultado. Le tome luego una foto y se la pase a la cliente para que pudiera evaluarlo.
Me pidió intensificar un poco los tonos del corazón rojo para que se notaran más las pinceladas y luego de eso quedó lista.
Ella el día de San Valentín la lució bien contenta y me pasó una foto con la franela puesta. De verdad me alegró mucho que le gustara y lo chistoso es que eso le dió pie a que me encargara dos franelas más que en otros post les estaré contando... Pero les adelanto que no fue tan sencillo como con esta jajaja 😔
I painted it super fast and I was really happy with the result. I took a picture and sent it to the client so she could see it.
She asked me to intensify the red heart tones a bit so the brushstrokes would stand out more, and then it was finished.
She wore it on Valentine's Day, looking really happy, and sent me a picture of herself wearing the shirt. I was so glad she liked it, and the funny thing is, it led her to order two more shirts, which I'll tell you about in other posts... But I'll tell you now, it wasn't as easy as this one, haha 😔

Oh that's cuteeeeee! You could paint whatever you want on a shirt if you want it so I'm kinda jealous for your skills hehe. It looks really good and your client love it. I am just curious though if how long the paint will stay in there before it fades. 🤔
Hi! Haha, thanks! Believe me, I've meant to do it, but I haven't had the time. I used special fabric paint; it can last for years if you take proper care of it. Greetings, friend! ☺️💜
