¡Hola Chicos!
Como les contaba en el post anterior, nos lanzamos la aventura de hacer el taller a la orilla del lago y la verdad nos sorprendió gratamente la receptividad que tuvo pues muchas personas escribieron interesadas y muchas otras se inscribieron.
Estábamos súper emocionados. La fecha estaba pautada para el día 26 de junio, y como todos sabrán, el 24 de ese mismo mes ocurrieron los dos terremotos en Venezuela. Todas las actividades fueron suspendidas y postergadas y a nosotros nos tocó tomar la misma medida.
La atención estaba destinada exclusivamente a todo lo sucedido, ayudar a los afectados y hacer colectas para enviar insumos hasta la capital.
Pasaron los días y aún seguíamos con el luto nacional, pero comencé a recibir mensajes de algunos de los participantes del taller, preguntando la nueva fecha. Así que me fui hasta la alcaldía para solicitar información y así saber si ya podíamos desarrollar nuestra actividad, y al recibir una respuesta positiva nos organizamos con el nuevo día.
Al ver que habían tantos participantes y algunos tenían mayor urgencia por asistir, planteamos dos fechas, lo que nos permitiría evaluar todo con menos caos.

As I mentioned in the previous post, we embarked on the adventure of holding the workshop by the lake, and we were pleasantly surprised by the positive response. Many people wrote expressing interest, and many others registered.
We were incredibly excited. The date was set for June 26th, and as you all know, on the 24th of that same month, two earthquakes struck Venezuela. All activities were suspended and postponed, and we had to take the same measure.
Our attention was focused exclusively on everything that had happened, helping those affected, and collecting donations to send supplies to the capital.
Days passed, and we were still in national mourning, but I started receiving messages from some of the workshop participants asking about the new date. So, I went to the mayor's office to request information and find out if we could proceed with our activity. Upon receiving a positive response, we organized the new date.
Seeing that there were so many participants, and some were more eager to attend, we proposed two dates, which would allow us to evaluate everything with less chaos.
Se hizo el primer gran día, y me fui en compañía de mi hijo hasta el local para buscar algunas de las cosas que nos harían falta. Habíamos llevado el almuerzo para comer allá y así poder salir un poco más temprano de casa.
Ese día compré algunas pinturas que hacía falta reponer y me dio mucha rabia porque uno de los botes de pintura estaba hasta la mitad. Pero ya no había nada que hacer al respecto, así que nos arreglamos para salir rumbo a nuestro destino.
The first big day arrived, and my son and I went to the store to pick up some of the things we would need. We had brought lunch to eat there so we could leave home a little earlier.
That day I bought some paints that needed replacing, and I was really annoyed because one of the paint pots was only half full. But there was nothing we could do about it, so we got ready to leave for our destination.
Cuando llegamos el sitio estaba algo lleno de semillas y hojas. Le dije a mi hijo que buscara una hoja de palmera para usarla de escoba y así logramos remover la mayoría para que el espacio estuviera más presentable.
Acomodamos todo y solo tocaba esperar a que llegaran las personas.
When we arrived, the place was quite full of seeds and leaves. I told my son to find a palm frond to use as a broom, and that's how we managed to remove most of them, making the space more presentable.
We tidied everything up, and then all we had to do was wait for the guests to arrive.
Llegaron las personas y los invitamos a sentarse donde les resultara más cómodo, y así iniciaron con sus obras. Todos iban con ideas diferentes y a algunos les tracé el boceto que me solicitaron.
The people arrived and we invited them to sit wherever they felt most comfortable, and that's how they began their work. Everyone had different ideas, and for some of them I drew the sketches they had requested.
Fue una tarde bien chévere la que vivimos con estas personas maravillosas. Conversé y aprendí mucho de las conversaciones entabladas ese día y sé que todos disfrutaron un montón, pues me lo hicieron saber. Acá pueden ver como todos exhiben felices sus resultados.
We had a really great afternoon with these wonderful people. I talked and learned a lot from the conversations we had that day, and I know everyone enjoyed it immensely because they let me know. Here you can see them all happily showing off their results.
Y así finalizamos con la primera jornada de nuestra Marea Creativa, un día que disfrutamos un montón y que estábamos ansiosos por repetir en pocos días. En un próximo post les contaré como nos fue ese segundo día. ♥
