¡Hola Chicos!
En los últimos días me ha tocado salir más de lo que me gusta hacerlo, el motivo es que el próximo domingo tenemos un evento de arte, música y vino llamado Convinarte, en la ciudad de Cabimas.
Es nuestra primera vez haciendo esto por ende requiere de largas caminatas buscando patrocinantes, precios para lo que vamos a utilizar y vamos a ofrecer ese día.
Como no salimos mucho a la ciudad, aprovechamos la salida para hacer varias diligencias al mismo tiempo. Esta es la primera de 3 partes que tiene esta gran aventura.

In the last few days it has been my turn to go out more than I like to do it, the reason is that next Sunday we have an art, music and wine event called Convinarte, in the city of Cabimas.
It is our first time doing this so it requires long walks looking for sponsors, prices for what we are going to use and what we are going to offer that day.
As we do not go out much to the city, we took advantage of the outing to do several errands at the same time. This is the first of 3 parts of this great adventure.
Esto fue el jueves de la semana pasada, donde teníamos pautado reunirnos con unas personas que alquilan equipos de música, que nos hacían falta para unos chicos que quieren tocar ese día del evento.
Salí desde bien temprano para reunirme con mi compañera Elieska y de ahí irnos hacía el sitio de encuentro.
This was on Thursday of last week, where we were scheduled to meet with some people who rent music equipment, which we needed for some guys who want to play that day of the event.
I left very early in the morning to meet with my partner Elieska and from there we went to the meeting place.
En camino al sitio pasamos por un negocio que vende licores y aprovechamos de ver cuales podrían convenirnos para comprar.
La variedad era poca, y en cuanto a los precios, algunos eran accesibles pero dudamos un poco en cuanto a la calidad del producto.
´La idea no es comprar algo premium pero tampoco ofrecerles algo malo a las personas asistentes al evento.
Conservamos eso como opción y continuamos con nuestro camino.
On our way to the site we passed by a store selling liquors and we took the opportunity to see which ones we could buy.
The variety was small, and as for the prices, some were affordable but we were a little hesitant about the quality of the product.
The idea is not to buy something premium but not to offer something bad to the people attending the event.
We kept that as an option and continued on our way.
Llegamos luego al sitio donde nos íbamos a encontrar con un conocido que no veía desde hacía muchos años.
Él es músico en un grupo que representa a este local de música y tocan covers de bandas de rock. La idea era encontrarnos con el y su equipo para evaluar la posibilidad de que ellos se presentaran en el evento y que también nos alquilaran los equipos.
Les expusimos nuestra propuesta, en la cual no contamos con un presupuesto para sustentar un gasto como contratar unos músicos. Ellos se sorprendieron un poco y nos dijeron que luego nos contactarían para hacernos saber su costo y su parecer sobre participar o no.
La respuesta fue una LOCURA. A pesar que les dijimos que era el primer evento, ellos pretendían alquilarnos los equipos en 200$, que obviamente no tenemos. En cuanto a participar, ni siquiera se pronunciaron.
Pues no nos importó, pensamos "si esa no era la puerta que había que tocar, de seguro encontraremos algo mucho mejor más adelante" (y créanme que así fue).
We then arrived at the place where we were going to meet an acquaintance I had not seen for many years.
He is a musician in a band that represents this music venue and they play covers of rock bands. The idea was to meet with him and his team to evaluate the possibility of them performing at the event and also renting us the equipment.
We explained our proposal to them, in which we did not have a budget to support an expense such as hiring musicians. They were a little surprised and told us that they would contact us later to let us know their cost and their opinion about participating or not.
The response was CRAZY. Even though we told them it was the first event, they pretended to rent us the equipment for $200, which we obviously don't have. As for participating, they didn't even say anything.
Well, we didn't care, we thought "if that wasn't the door to knock on, surely we will find something much better later" (and believe me, we did).
Frente a ese sitio había un centro comercial muy icónico de la ciudad que desde hace mucho tiempo ha bajado su afluencia de visitas. Nos pareció una buena oportunidad para ver local encontrábamos vacío.
Encontramos dos pero ninguno se aproxima a lo que estamos buscando en cuanto espacio.
In front of that site there was a very iconic shopping mall of the city that has long since decreased its number of visitors. It seemed like a good opportunity to see if we could find a vacant location.
We found two but neither came close to what we were looking for in terms of space.
En esta esquina hay muchos locales comerciales, y justo estaba una licorería a la que le habíamos consultado anteriormente los precios. Entramos para ver que otras cosas podían ofrecer que fuera de nuestro interés.
Hasta el momento este es el sitio donde compraremos los vinos para nuestro evento.
El local es un gran galpón, pues su atracción principal es que puedes entrar con tu carro en él y comprar sin necesidad de bajarte del vehículo.
There are many stores on this corner, and there was a liquor store that we had previously asked about prices. We went in to see what else they had to offer that would be of interest to us.
So far this is the place where we will buy the wines for our event.
The place is a big shed, because its main attraction is that you can enter with your car and buy without getting out of the vehicle.
A pocos metros queda otro centro comercial, este si tiene gran afluencia de personas. Fuimos hasta la oficina de condominio para que nos dieran información en cuanto a los alquileres.
Duramos unos 20 minutos hablando con la secretaria y salimos de ahí casi infartadas. La inversión mínima para poder alquilar uno de estos locales es de 600$ 😱, eso sin contar el condominio que son como 60$ mensual. La locura.
Claro, para cualquier persona con una buena capital es algo accesible, pero para nosotras que vamos comenzando, definitivamente no.
A few meters away there is another shopping center, this one has a large influx of people. We went to the condominium office to get information about rentals.
We spent about 20 minutes talking to the secretary and we left the office almost exhausted. The minimum investment to be able to rent one of these premises is $600 😱, that's not counting the condo which is about $60 a month. Crazy.
Of course, for anyone with a good capital is something accessible, but for us who are just starting out, definitely not.
Ya se estaba haciendo el medio día y luego de esa gran caminata con el sol pegándonos directamente (porque había dejado mi paraguas en casa), nuestro cuerpos comenzaron a pedir algo de comer.
Nos detuvimos en un negocio llamado "El gran Jah". Acá vendían comida rápida. Mi compañera compró una botella de malta y pastelitos para comer.
Fue de mucha ayuda para poder continuar con nuestra travesía. Aprovechamos para discutir sobre nuestro plan de acción y cual sería el siguiente destino.
Pero tuvimos que irnos del sitio porque comenzaron a llegar muchas personas pidiendo comida. La verdad fue algo súper incomodo, sobre todo por la actitud de la señora que nos llegó.
Ella se veía muy bien, sin necesidad de estar pidiendo, pero que en el momento le provocó tomar de nuestra malta y así nos lo hizo saber, mi compañera le sirvió un vaso y ella simplemente lo tomó y ni las gracias dio...
Al parecer a los dueños del negocio le importaba en lo más mínimo que esto pasara. Así que decidimos irnos para evitar otro momento así.
Ya luego llegamos a la avenida donde está mi antigua casa, pero esa aventura se las conté en un post anterior.
Pronto les traeré la segunda parte de este día de aventuras.
It was already midday and after that long walk with the sun beating down on us (because I had left my umbrella at home), our bodies started to ask for something to eat.
We stopped at a store called "El gran Jah". Here they sold fast food. My companion bought a bottle of malt and pastries to eat.
It was very helpful to be able to continue our journey. We took the opportunity to discuss our plan of action and what would be the next destination.
But we had to leave the site because many people started to arrive asking for food. The truth was something super uncomfortable, especially because of the attitude of the lady who came to us.
She looked very nice, without needing to be asking, but at the moment she was provoked to drink our malt and she let us know, my companion served her a glass and she just took it and did not even thank us....
Apparently the owners of the business didn't care at all that this happened. So we decided to leave to avoid another moment like that.
Later we arrived to the avenue where my old house is, but I told you about that adventure in a previous post.
