¡Hola Chicos!
Hoy les voy a contar la primera parte de lo que fue el compartir navideño en Lakrearte, el segundo que organizo pero el más importante hasta ahora por todo lo que representaba.
Como estábamos haciendo cierre de fin de año, quería hacer algo especial para todos los alumnos, es por eso que quise hacer un compartir navideño para que los chicos pudieran compartir con los alumnos de otros turnos y disfrutar una tarde diferente.
Dentro de mi planificación estaba el hacer algunos juegos y un intercambio de regalos, pero ya les contaré como nos fue con esto más adelante.

Today I'm going to tell you about the first part of our Christmas get-together at Lakrearte, the second one I've organized, but the most important one so far because of everything it represented.
Since we were wrapping up the year, I wanted to do something special for all the students. That's why I decided to have a Christmas get-together so the kids could spend time with students from other shifts and enjoy a different kind of afternoon.
My plan included some games and a gift exchange, but I'll tell you how that went later.
Ese día salimos mi hijo y yo de casa en horas del medio día, el compartir comenzaba a las 3 de la tarde y la idea era llegar más temprano para limpiar, acomodar todo y aprovechar el tiempo restante para continuar arreglando todo lo de la galería, pues aún tenía muchos trabajos por pegar en la pared.
Cuando llegamos al local lo primero que hice fue pegar un papel plateado que había llevado para cubrir una de las puertas que está al frente del local, pero decidí colocarla para cubrir la puerta del baño que se encuentra en pésimo estado y que no quería que estuviera estorbando en las fotos que tomaba durante el compartir y la galería del día siguiente.
Mi hijo mientras me estuvo ayudando a llenar los globos con los que íbamos a decorar y jugar con los chicos. Yo no inflo globos pues me da una alergia rara en la cara y no quería pasar por lo mismo. Él se esforzó mucho pues infló unos 25 globos.
Luego de eso me cambié de ropa e hice un peinado para luego colocarme mi gorrito navideño.
That day, my son and I left home around midday. The get-together was starting at 3:00 p.m., and the plan was to arrive early to clean, organize everything, and use the remaining time to continue working on the gallery, as I still had a lot of things to hang on the wall.
When we arrived at the shop, the first thing I did was hang up some silver paper I had brought to cover one of the front doors. I decided to use it to cover the bathroom door, which was in terrible condition, and I didn't want it in the way of the photos I was taking during the get-together and for the gallery the next day.
Meanwhile, my son helped me inflate the balloons we were going to use to decorate and play with the kids. I don't usually inflate balloons because I have a strange allergic reaction on my face, and I didn't want to go through that again. He worked really hard and inflated about 25 balloons.
After that, I changed my clothes and styled my hair before putting on my Christmas hat.
Al cabo de unos minutos comenzaron a llegar los alumnos, yo me ocupé pues fui sirviendo los dulces y bebidas que habían llevado para compartir. Para mi suerte en este proceso llegó la alumna más pequeña junto a su mamá quien se iba a quedar durante el compartir y me ayudó a repartir todo a los chicos.
Mientras yo servía ella iba entregando a cada uno de los chicos. Esto me alivió mucho la carga. Luego tomé mi teléfono y le tomé algunas fotos a los niños mientras disfrutaban.
Como les comenté al inicio la idea era hacer juegos pero no me dio tiempo de hacer mucho pues me ocupé en esto de estar les sirviendo las cosas, no les dejé todo sobre la mesa para que tomaran lo que quisieran pues la idea era asegurarse que todos recibieran lo justo.
A la próxima tengo pensado hacer como especie de cotillones para facilitar el proceso.
After a few minutes, the students started arriving. I took charge, serving the sweets and drinks they had brought to share. Luckily, the youngest student arrived with her mother, who was staying for the meal, and she helped me distribute everything to the children.
While I was serving, she handed things out to each child. This made things much easier. Then I took out my phone and snapped some pictures of the children enjoying themselves.
As I mentioned at the beginning, the idea was to play games, but I didn't have time for much because I was busy serving everyone. I didn't leave everything on the table for them to take whatever they wanted; the idea was to make sure everyone got a fair amount.
Next time, I plan to make some sort of party favors to make the process easier.
Mi idea era hacer el intercambio de regalos al inicio de la actividad para poder hacer los juegos luego, pero me di cuenta cuando ya teníamos unos 30 minutos de haber iniciado que faltaban unos alumnos.
El día anterior una de las mamás de dos niñas me había comentado que sus hijas no iban a poder participar en el intercambio y esto realmente me estresó pues a cada niño se le había asignado un amigo secreto y el que faltaran estas dos niñas representaba que dos no iban a recibir regalo.
Como les conté en otro post yo era una de esas personas que no recibiría regalo, pero otra era nuestra alumna más pequeña, por lo que trabajé hasta horas de la madrugada para tener su regalo listo para el siguiente día.
Todo iba bien pero luego me di cuenta que faltaban 3 alumnas, nos de ellas eran otras hermanas que al llamarlas me confirmaron que ya iban en vía al local, pero la tercera no respondía.
Luego de mucho insistir a su mamá por mensajes y llamadas recibí una respuesta que no esperaba, la niña no iba a asistir. Con las otras dos tuve tiempo de prepararme pero con esta fue una total locura.
Así que me tocó improvisar y por suerte pude resolverlo antes de iniciar el regalo, el regalo de la niña que faltaba se le iba a dar a quien ella le iba a entregar y así logré que todos tuvieran regalo asegurado. No fue fácil pero se logró.

My idea was to do the gift exchange at the beginning of the activity so we could play the games afterward, but I realized about 30 minutes in that some students were missing.
The day before, one of the mothers of two girls had told me that her daughters wouldn't be able to participate in the exchange, and this really stressed me out because each child had been assigned a Secret Santa, and the absence of these two girls meant that two wouldn't receive a gift.
As I mentioned in another post, I was one of those who wouldn't receive a gift, but another was our youngest student, so I worked until the early hours of the morning to have her gift ready for the next day.
Everything was going well, but then I realized that three students were missing. Two of them were sisters who, when I called them, confirmed they were on their way to the venue, but the third wasn't answering.
After much persistence with her mother through messages and calls, I received an unexpected response: the girl wasn't going to attend. With the other two, I had time to prepare, but this one was total chaos.
So I had to improvise, and luckily I was able to sort it out before starting the gift-giving. The gift for the girl who was missing would be given to the person she was going to give it to, and that way I made sure everyone had a gift. It wasn't easy, but we managed.
