It was very close to the Passover feast and unscrupulous people agreed to commit the most horrible injustice that has ever existed in the history of mankind. The Sanhedrin could not condemn anyone to death, but they wanted to imprison and condemn to death a man who was gaining more followers than them, that people were beginning to recognize him as the son of God. These men, believing themselves to be powerful, gathered in the palace of the priest Caiaphas and made plans to arrest Jesus without the people of the town noticing so as not to create an uproar.

Estaba muy cerca la fiesta de la pascua y personas sin escrúpulos acordaron en cometer la mas horrible injusticia que ha existido en la historia de la humanidad. El sanedrín no podía condenar a nadie a muerte, pero querían apresar y condenar a muerte a un hombre que estaba ganando mas seguidores que ellos, que las personas lo comenzaban a reconocer como el hijo de Dios. Estos hombres creyendo que son poderosos se reunieron en el palacio del sacerdote Caifás e hicieron los planes de apresar a Jesús sin que las personas del pueblo lo noten para no crear alboroto.

On other occasions they have wanted to carry out their filthy plan, but this time they will succeed because they have the treachery of Judas Iscariotes, who receives 30 silver coins for giving the location of his master and agrees to kiss him so that they know who the man they are looking for is.

En otras oportunidades han querido llevar a cabo su cochino plan, pero esta vez sí tendrán éxito ya que cuentan con la traición de Judas Iscariotes, el cual recibe 30 monedas de plata por dar la ubicación de su maestro y acuerda en besarlo para que sepan quien es el hombre que buscan.

Meanwhile the day of the Passover feast was approaching and the apostles ask Jesus where they will have the Passover supper (at that time it was customary to eat unleavened bread and mutton) Jesus had already prepared something very special and answers his disciples as follows: "Behold, as you enter the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you; follow him into the house where he enters, and say to the householder of that house, 'The Master says to you, "Where is the room where I am to eat the Passover with my disciples?"' Then he will show you a large upper room already prepared; make ready there. So they went and found as he had said to them."

Mientras tanto se acercaba el día de la fiesta de pascua y los apóstoles le preguntan a Jesús donde tendrán la cena de pascua (en aquel entonces se acostumbraba a comer pan sin levadura y carne de cordero) Jesús ya tenía preparado algo muy especial y le contesta a sus discípulos de la siguiente manera: “He aquí, al entrar en la ciudad os saldrá al encuentro un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; seguidle hasta la casa donde entrare, y decid al padre de la familia de esa casa: El Maestro te dice: ¿Dónde está el aposento donde he de comer la pascua con mis discípulos? Entonces él os mostrará un gran aposento alto ya dispuesto; preparad allí. Fueron, pues, y hallaron como les había dicho”

At the time of this meeting, where Jesus was with his disciples, they did not understand everything that their master felt, but we can have at least a little idea: Jesus knew everything that was going to happen to him, he knew that Judas was going to betray him, he knew that he was going to suffer and die, he knew that they were going to deny him, he knew perfectly all the suffering that awaited him including his death and this meeting with his disciples was a bitter and sad farewell where all these feelings of pain, fear, disappointment and much sadness, were in the heart of Jesus. If we read chapter 22 of Luke we realize that many things were discussed in that meeting apart from constituting the Holy Supper which Jesus told his disciples would be the last one for him, until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

Al momento de esta reunión, donde se hallaba Jesús con sus discípulos, ellos no entendían todo lo que su maestro sentía, pero nosotros podemos tener por lo menos, una pequeña idea: Jesús sabia todo lo que le iba a pasar, sabia que judas lo iba a traicionar, sabia que iba a padecer y morir, sabia que lo iban a negar, sabia a la perfección todo el padecimiento que le esperaba incluyendo su muerte y esta reunión con sus discípulos era una amarga y triste despedida donde todo estos sentimientos de dolor, miedo, decepción y muchísima tristeza, estaban en el corazón de Jesús. Si leemos el capitulo 22 de lucas nos damos cuenta que se hablaron muchas cosas en esa reunión aparte de constituir la Santa cena la cual Jesús le dijo a sus discípulos que sería la última para él, hasta que se cumpla en el reino de Dios.

14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 And he said to them, "I have greatly desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer,
16 For I say unto you, I will eat no more of it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves,
18 For I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God come.
19 Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also he took the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

14 Y cuando llegó la hora, se sentó a la mesa, y con él los doce apóstoles.
15 Y les dijo: En gran manera he deseado comer con vosotros esta Pascua antes que yo padezca,
16 porque os digo que no comeré más de ella hasta que se cumpla en el reino de Dios.
17 Y tomando la copa, después de haber dado gracias, dijo: Tomad esto y repartidlo entre vosotros,
18 porque os digo que año beberé más del fruto de la vid hasta que el reino de Dios venga.
19 entonces tomó el pan, y habiendo dado gracias, lo partió y les dio, diciendo: Esto es mi cuerpo, que por vosotros es dado; haced esto en memoria de mí.
20 Asimismo, tomó también la acopa, después que hubo cenado, diciendo: Esta copa es el nuevo convenio en mi sangre, que por vosotros se derrama.

After this Jesus declares:
But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.

Después de esto Jesús declara:
Mas, he aquí la mano del que me entrega está conmigo en la mesa.

And indeed the Son of Man goes, as it is determined; but woe to that man for whom he is betrayed.....
Satan entered into Judas and he gives himself up to his will, fulfilling his desires and betraying his master.

Y a la verdad el Hijo del Hombre va, según lo que está determinado; pero, ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien es entregado…
Satanás entro en Judas y este se entrega a su voluntad cumpliendo sus deseos traicionando a su maestro.

It is not known what was going through Judas' mind when he betrayed the savior, what is clear is that he let himself be carried away by a diabolical ambition and pride. So much so that Jesus tells him: "what you are going to do, do it soon" exposing him in front of everyone, he still went and betrayed him.

No se sabe que pasaba por la mente de judas al traicionar al salvador lo que si tenemos claro es que se dejo llevar por una diabólica ambición y orgullo. Tanto que Jesús le dice: “lo que vas hacer hazlo pronto” poniéndolo al descubierto delante de todos igual fue y lo traicionó.

The saddest moment in the life of Jesus on earth is this, in which he meets with his disciples: death, betrayal and the terrible suffering that awaited him in Gethsemane, all remained for eternity for all Christians with these words that we read in the book of St. Luke: "This is my body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me. "If you concentrate on this fact, if you keep absolute silence with your head down in reverence to this important and sacred ceremony in commemoration of the Savior, the spirit of peace that you will feel when you remember it will be an incredible experience. What you feel at this moment, is the holy spirit telling you that this really happened, I know because at the moment of writing I felt it too. El momento más triste en la vida de Jesús sobre la tierra es este, en el cual se reúne con sus discípulos: muerte, traición y el padecimiento terrible que le esperaba en el Getsemaní, todo quedo por la eternidad para todos los cristianos con estas palabras que leemos en el libro de S. Lucas: “Esto es mi cuerpo, que por vosotros es dado; haced esto en memoria de mí.”, puedes sentir en la iglesia al tomar la Santa Cena lo sagrado y triste de esta ceremonia, por supuesto la Santa Cena se debe tomar dignamente, sí así lo haces y te concentras en este hecho, guardas absoluto silencio con la cabeza gacha en señal de reverencia a esta importante y sagrada ceremonia en conmemoración al Salvador, el espíritu de paz que sentirán al recordarlo será una experiencia increíble. Lo que sientes en este momento, es el espíritu santo diciéndote que esto paso verdaderamente, lo sé por qué al momento de escribir yo también lo sentí.
