Thought Of The Day

One of the things you can do to improve your knowledge about people is to observe human behavior. Observe and learn. This way you can learn a lot about different individuals and maybe save yourself from a lot of trouble in the future, if you know how to use what you've learnt, to handle different situations better.

Craving For Power

Craving for power is part of human behavior and it is as old as this world. If you know a little bit of history, you know that fighting for power dates back to the beginning of humanity and has never stopped to exist. Even though we have a different way to fight today, it's still called fight, no matter how you look at it.

Fighting for power is not necessarily a bad thing if you want to be honest as where there's opportunity, there's competition and where there's competition, there's always a fight. The problem starts when incompetent people are in the game and are favored for various reasons. Sometimes these people get in positions they don't deserve, therefore they are not able to perform the tasks the job requires.

This is when you see the classic do as I say, not as I do rule applied. This, translated into simple English means rules only apply to others, not them, they do as they please, abusing their position knowingly, because they think they are superior and don't answer to anyone. If you have had a few jobs in your life you must have seen this behavior yourself and experienced the damaging consequences of it as well.

Things can get a lot worse when incompetence is paired with stupidity. The worst combination ever and this is when you see rude behavior partly because superiority has to be shown, incompetence has to be hidden and also because in some cases sense of reality is long lost or they have never had one.

The problem with power is that after some time, ignorant people start to think they are doing well and feel the satisfaction that comes with exercising power over others. That's a dangerous path but when you can only hear your own voice, there's no way you can change. Changing is a process that takes time, but for that to happen, you first have to admit what you're doing is wrong. No chance of doing that if you're ignorant, that's the painful truth.

The Only Way

Life has taught me to observe, decide and learn. In my eyes everyone is an example, you just have to decide if the person is a good example or a bad one. That way you know if it worth following the example, or categorize it as a bad example, learn from it and never do those things they are doing.

Over the years, I've met quite a lot of people that fit the description. There's one at every workplace and if you're lucky, you may meet several of them. Focusing on showing superiority to others, treating people like dirt is the fastest road to nowhere.

Keeping an open mind, being open to suggestions, willing to learn is the only way going forward and growing as a person. The decision is yours. You decide what you want to become. If you want to be the best, learn, to be best. Earn your place at the top.

Yeah, I know, this is not the type of content you're used to from me, but I had to write this down.

Haha I'm glad you ended it that way... I least expected to read this coming from your username 😂 but it's perfect! Like I felt like you were talking to me directly.

The thirst for power has led so many into what they shouldn't have done and many are regretting it, some are yet to regret it and they will.

It wasn't long I wrote a crazy post to get rid of the bad guys, those power seekers and superior actors are the main bad guys, I'm coming for them! haha...

I'm thankful to have read this and it seems we could make do with these kind of write ups coming from you as well 😊

It's not very often, that I write such posts, but when I feel like I had enough of stupidity ... I write such things.

Unhealthy competition is the result of the diverse fight that exists. We can learn from people silently or even ask questions where necessary without engaging in fights with them.

Hahaha, it's not your usual posting method but it makes lots of sense.

Thanks for sharing.

No, it's not my usual posting method at all. You rarely see such things from me, but it happens.

Some individuals feel as though they are better than everyone just because of the position they hold at the workplace or in an organization.

Others also feel they are in competition with others just because they see the person as a threat.

But what we fail to understand is that life doesn’t work this way. One can’t have it all.
We have to be open to learn, unlearn and relearn.
That’s how we become great!

Not everyone sees things like that, unfortunately. Some may realize sooner or later, others need to told.

This is the best post I have seen this morning

Honestly speaking your post content top notch quality, going down to what I have gotten from your post, I have a question and a lesson.

My question

You said,

"The problem starts when incompetent people are in the game and are favored for various reasons."

like what exactly are the reasons why incompetent people get there, they aren't good enough to get there so how do they please highlight some points for me.

The lesson

under your ONLY WAY segment i saw this,

"Life has taught me to observe, decide and learn. In my eyes everyone is an example, you just have to decide if the person is a good example or a bad one. That way you know if it worth following the example, or categorize it as a bad example, learn from it and never do those things they are doing."

this particular paragraph is an eye catcher I really pondered on it a lot, indeed you were very correct.

Thank you and I'm glad you find it helpful.

To answer your question, incompetent people are easy to manipulate and become a tool in smart people's hand. Also they would do anything for power and to stay in power, things like being rude to get results.

While I was waiting to see some flower photos, a philosopher came out of @erikah. It is impossible not to agree with what you wrote. People complain about power when others have it and abuse it when they have it. It's like a law of nature. I don't think it will ever change.

No philosopher here darling, just some thoughts, mine actually. And you're right, this will never change.
