Moss And Frost

In one of my recent post I mentioned that I wanted to shoot some moss photos and could not find any in the area I visited. Moss is not a rarity around here but dry weather can destroy, dry out moss. The other day we got the frost and on my way to frosty leaf hunting I remembered a place where there used to be moss.

Lucky me, I was able to find some, very nice ones, but compared to how much it was last year, it was like 10%.

This is a stone wall that has moss. No matter how impossible it looks, but moss is capable of thriving even on stone. In this case I don't know what's happened, why the rest of the moss was gone. At first I thought the city cleaning service is responsible but on a second thought that is impossible as they are barely cleaning the streets, let alone clean this stone wall.

This little hairy one was on a 80 degree wall. It is always amazing to see these green creatures grow where there's no soil. How hard it could be to grow on stone, where there's no moisture, like in the soil, or on the bark of a tree.

These plants were caught by surprise, therefore were looking like frozen lace.

I wish I had a better camera to be able to capture the details. Those small snow drops would be amazing from up close.

Looks a the small drops on the spider web. I'm planning to buy a new mobile phone with a better camera, which can take better photos, but for now this has to do it.

I was looking for scenes where I could capture moss, frost and colorful leaves as well, in other words as many colors as possible in one photo. This is one of the photos I am pleased to show you. Those red leaves are looking great above the green moss.

I am lucky to live in an area where there's plenty of green and on days like the one we had the other day, here's plenty of opportunity for a photographer. Nature has plenty to offer, regardless of the season. Where there are only buildings and concrete blocks, there's not much to do.

While I was taking these photos, people passing by were looking at me, trying to figure out what I was doing. These are the people who are looking at similar photos on the internet, admiring them but can't see the places offering the same view in the real world.

Lol, the people were prob like " What the hell is she looking at?".

I like your moss shots, no matter if pro or not. It's the little things that someone recognizes and technology these days allows us to capture it right away. I tend to think like...'It's just moss' but you just showed me that even the little things are worth sharing :).

Thank you for the nice comment.

I have to admit, since I'm on Hive, I pay attention to everything and you have no idea how many interesting things you can capture. And as I said in my post, we tend to admire what it is on the internet but are blind to these little things although these are everywhere.

Those people who may have thought I'm crazy, most likely can't see the beauty in moss :) I used to be one of them, but not anymore.

Good for you :)...I recognize the little things but just don't really share them because I think it has no value to others. But what a foolish thinking that is. There are parts in the world where people might be happy to take a look at some moss for example. Thanks for reminding me on that 😊 .

I've been sharing my autumn photos lately because I know it doesn't last forever. I got some very nice comments from people who don't have autumn and have never seen such colorful leaves.

Their feedback is a confirmation that these photos are needed. I'm also enjoying the flower photos of tropical flowers we don't have here. Also the travel posts from places I've never been to. 🙂

Exactly. Crazy how we take our daily surrounding for granted while we are longing for what the others have while they are longing for what we have. Crazy humans lol. Have a great Sunday 😊 .

Yeah, that is me on the first gif, when you told me it's you 😂😂😂

Take it as a compliment. Not every day that people got confused with movie stars 🤣

I don't wanna brag but for whatever reason it happened to me before. In Las Vegas they thought I'm somewhat of a star lol and when working the bar I was thought to be an US actress, maybe a singer or so, I can't remember the name for gods sake lol.

Being confused with a movie star has not brought a full bank account though but thanks for the compliment 😂 . I think I look like the older version of Peg Bundy nowadays 😂 .

When plants look like frozen lace....it is wonderful to just sit and stare. This post makes me dream of a snowy winter, which I hope I will have in my country Romania, we used to have harsh winters in the past, now not so much anymore

Lol, tell me about it! 😁

I live in Transylvania and still remember those tough winters when I was a kid. As you say, nowadays we have warm winters, we barely get a few days of snow, which is not good at all.

Thank you for stopping by.

Interesting color combination. Nice contrast. I liked your work. It's nice that this is all wildlife and not digital effects.
