Is this a good thing?


Hi,

I never go to a gym but I am well shaped till now. Many people go to gym in cars and use lift to go to upper floors. They can go on bicycles or on foot and take staircase go to up. But, they don't do it. So, going to gym is a fashion for many and they avoid physical work. Is this a good thing?

It depends. If the gym is many kilometres away and if you don't have much time, or if it's very cold or icy, then it's better to go by car. But if you go up by lift, then it's not such a good thing, because that would also be fitness if you went up the stairs, although if you're in a hurry, it's better to take the lift than to trip on the stairs. But if you have to carry very heavy things, although that's not the case when you go to the gym, then sometimes it's better to take the lift. But basically it is healthy to climb stairs.
