Bien... aquí estoy yo contando mi experiencia con el material nuevo para mí que es arcilla secado al aire para hacer worry stones... Con respecto al secado: tardó 24 horas en secar completamente recordando que la pieza es pequeña.
Al secar me di cuenta que suelta mucho polvillo, por lo que es bueno aplicarle primer, eso hice con pegamento, una capa de pega blanca sirvió, luego pintar un fondo plano, es indispensable para estas piezas que lleven tratamiento de resina, le dará mejor acabado y lo hará más resistente.
Con respecto a tenerlo como llavero siento un material que al secar se convierte en algo que los golpes de las llaves pueden romper, no lo recomiendo como llavero. No se me ha roto pero lo veo muy frágil para eso. Imagínate cargar con un muñeco de cerámica en tus llaves, las mismas llaves lo romperán en algún momento, sobre todo si llevas muchas como San Pedro.
Recomiendo el material para piezas talladas a mano, figuras, platos, adornos, pero no para worry stones, aunque he visto muchos de este material. Esto es una pieza de cerámica prácticamente.
Moldear con este producto no es fácil y pues... Prepárate para ensuciarlo todo. Pero fue una experiencia muy grata y la disfruté un montón, ahora les presento el trabajo terminado.

Well… here I am sharing my experience with a new material for me: air-drying clay for making worry stones… As for drying: it took 24 hours to dry completely, bearing in mind that the piece is small.
As it dried, I realised it gives off a lot of dust, so it’s a good idea to apply a primer – I did this with glue; one coat of white glue did the trick. Then, painting a flat base coat is essential for these pieces before applying the resin treatment; it’ll give a better finish and make it more durable.
As for using it as a key ring, I feel the material, once dry, becomes something that the impact of the keys could break; I wouldn’t recommend it as a key ring. Mine hasn’t broken yet, but I think it’s far too fragile for that. Imagine carrying a ceramic figurine on your keys – the keys themselves will break it at some point, especially if you carry as many as Saint Peter.
I’d recommend the material for hand-carved pieces, figurines, plates and ornaments, but not for worry stones, although I’ve seen plenty made from it. This is practically a ceramic piece.
Modelling with this product isn’t easy and, well… be prepared to make a right mess. But it was a really enjoyable experience and I had a brilliant time; now I’ll show you the finished piece.

Luego que la pieza seque aplicamos un primer o una capa de pega blanca, también funciona, dejamos secar.
Aplica un capa de pintura blanca para sellar.
pego una mostacilla negra en la nariz.
Con pintura acrílica comienzo a pintar los detalles de la nariz y patitas con color carne.
Luego con el pincel liner hago la linea de los ojos y detalles de cola. Con la herramienta de moldear, la punta de bolita mas pequeña hago detallitos de patitas.
Es el momento de pintar las puntitas de sus orejitas. En este punto solo he usado el color negro.

Once the piece has dried, apply a primer or a coat of white glue – this works just as well – and leave it to dry.
Apply a coat of white paint to seal it.
I stick a black bead onto the nose.
Using acrylic paint, I start painting the details of the nose and little legs in flesh colour.
Then, using the liner brush, I draw the eye lines and add details to the tail. Using the modelling tool with the smallest ball tip, I add tiny details to the paws.
Now it’s time to paint the tips of its little ears. At this stage, I’ve only used black.

Pinto los detalles faltantes y dejo secar bien la pintura.
Luego aplico la primera capa de resina por un lado, dejo que seque y luego aplico otra capa por el lado inverso y laterales.
Luego que seque toda la pieza con la resina coloco el aro de llavero.

I paint in the missing details and leave the paint to dry thoroughly.
Then I apply the first coat of resin to one side, leave it to dry, and then apply another coat to the reverse side and the sides.
Once the whole piece has dried with the resin on, I attach the keyring ring.

Your piece has turned out beautifully! I love the colours and the material you’ve used, especially as it reminds me that I used that material a lot years ago. I was taught how to use it at school, and at first I’d simply mould something like a jewellery box and varnish it, it looked great. I later made a black cat, 1 cm tall, a realistic one, and it’s exactly as you say: it can take between 24 and 48 hours to dry, depending on the thickness of the piece. I then painted it with acrylic paint and varnished it. I also made a statue of the Virgin Mary, 30 cm tall. I love modelling with my hands using that material. In Argentina, it’s called ‘arcillete’.
But it’s true what you say, knocks can break the material. It’s ideal for ornaments you place on a table, but not for anything that’s going to be moved around. I’ve really enjoyed today’s session – thank you so much and a big hug!💗
