The viper / La vívora (ENG/ESP)
Dear artistic community, here I am once again participating in drawing challenges.
I was surprised to see that Dora Weigand launched another drawing challenge having a very recent one, as we know I participated in it and of course when I saw another beautiful drawing of her and calling everyone to participate I did not hesitate to recreate in my style her character.
The first one I participated in was for the celebration that this artist had surpassed 20K subscribers on the social network Instagram, but this one apparently has nothing special but to encourage the participation of everyone and keep the community alive, I really like that. Maybe it's a strategy to attract more subscribers, I'd like to launch one but I don't have that many subscribers on my account.
I really liked the cartoon style and thanks to my previous design I was able to learn a little more about the shading technique.
Apreciada comunidad artística, aquí estoy una vez más participando en retos de dibujo.
Me sorprendió ver que Dora Weigand lanzó otro reto de dibujo teniendo uno muy reciente, como sabemos participé en él y por supuesto que al ver otro dibujo hermoso de ella y llamando a todos a participar no dudé en recrear a mi estilo su personaje.
El primero que participé era por la celebración de que esta artista había sobrepasado los 20K de suscriptores en la red social Instagram, pero este al parecer no tiene nada especial mas que fomentar la participación de todos y mantener viva la comunidad, eso me gusta mucho. Tal vez es una estrategia para atraer más suscriptores, me gustaría lanzar uno pero no tengo tantos suscriptores en mi cuenta.
Me gustó mucho el estilo caricatura que quedó y gracias a mi diseño anterior pude aprender un poco más sobre la técnica de sombreado.

In my previous participation On the field ( ilustradora ✨ Draw this in your style ✨) is the presentation I made of this author that as you know I really like her style and her works.
I would like to tell you so many things that are happening to me, really exhausting things but I just hope that the storm passes for good, I can only tell you that I feel that my life is going too slow, that I am trying hard to change the situation but I have to wait because I have exhausted all my resources in acquiring housing and with it the broadband internet that afflicts me so much, it really depresses me a lot, because it limits me too much.
In spite of everything I focus on the good things that are happening, on the peace I feel and the tranquility, on keeping faith and hope, besides enjoying a lot with those who are with me.
I think this design is the representation of how I felt before, a previous glimpse was a gray, sad, bitter human being, surrounded by vipers, although the drawing has none of those feelings apparently has an eternal winter in his heart as tender as it looks, thank God I no longer feel that way.
How important it is to be treated well! That we are treated with love and made to feel that we are part of a world, above all respect, calamity looms over our days when these things are lost in a relationship. Empathy is nowhere to be found but the eagerness to make the other feel bad and push them into an abyss, with bad actions and cornering. That Aha I knew! Which is nothing more than the answer to so many maliciously manipulated events.
Anyway...
Unlike now, for many years I took refuge in my drawings, now I enjoy each one of them and they are part of my happy world, a change that I always expected and although many things still happen that are strong, I remember how bad I was and maybe the present is not so bad.
From time to time the vipers try to bite and continue to produce pain but.... I don't let myself anymore, I'm free as the wind.
But nah! Let's take a look at what this design would look like on a pretty feminine piece of clothing.

En mi participación anterior On the field ( ilustradora ✨ Draw this in your style ✨) esta la presentación que hice de esta autora que como sabrán me gusta mucho su estilo y sus trabajos.
Quisiera contarles tantas cosas que me están sucediendo, cosas realmente agotadoras pero solo espero que pase la tormenta de una buena vez, solo puedo decirles que siento que mi vida está transcurriendo demasiado lento, que me esfuerzo mucho por cambiar la situación pero no queda otra que esperar pues he agotado todos mis recursos en adquirir vivienda y con ello el internet banda ancha que tanto me aqueja, en serio me deprime mucho, pues me limita demasiado.
A pesar de todo me enfoco en lo bueno que pasa, en la paz que siento y la tranquilidad, en mantener la fe y la esperanza, además de disfrutar mucho de quien me acompaña.
Creo que este diseño es la representación de cómo me sentía antes, un vistazo anterior era un ser humano gris, triste, amargado, rodeado de víboras, aunque el dibujo no tiene nada de esos sentimientos al parecer tiene un eterno invierno en su corazón por más tierno que se mire, gracias a Dios ya no me siento así.
¡Qué importante es que nos traten bien! Que nos traten con amor y nos hagan sentir que somos parte de un mundo, sobre todo respeto, la calamidad se asoma a nuestros días cuando estas cosas se pierden en una relación. La empatía no existe por ningún lado sino el afán de hacer sentir mal al otro y empujarlo a un abismo, con malas acciones y acorralamientos. Ese ¡Ajá yo sabía! Que no es más que la respuesta a tantos eventos manipulados malintencionadamente.
En fin...
A diferencia de ahora, por largos años me refugié en mis dibujos, ahora los disfruto cada uno de ellos y son parte de mi mundo alegre un cambio que siempre esperé y aunque aun pasan muchas cosas que son fuertes, pues recuerdo lo mal que estuve y quizá lo actual no sea para tanto.
De vez en cuando las víboras intentan picar y seguir produciendo dolor pero... Ya no me dejo, soy libre como el viento.
¡Pero nah! Demos un vistazo de cómo luciría este diseño en una bonita pieza de vestir femenina.

I don't know why but I saw a certain sensuality in the design, the look, the neckline in the back, the evening gown. Every sketcher I imagine appreciates it differently, I would have liked to know more about the meaning of it for the person taking the challenge but there are no more words.
The pose was not very easy to do even if I had the resource as a guide, it was a little difficult to avoid looking like Linda Blair in "The Exorcist". Those who are from my era know what I mean in terms of disproportion, but I think it was successful.
As this design has no lineart, the base color was applied directly on the sketch image, each color in different folders.
No sé por qué pero vi cierta sensualidad en el diseño, la mirada el escote en la espalda, el traje de noche. Cada dibujante imagino que la aprecia de manera diferente, me hubiera gustado saber más el significado de ella para la persona que lleva el reto pero no hay más palabras.
la pose no fue muy fácil de hacer aunque tuviera el recurso como guía, fue algo dificultoso evitar que pareciera Linda Blair en "El exorcista" El que es de mi época sabe a qué me refiero en cuanto a desproporción, pero considero que quedó logrado.
Como este diseño no lleva lineart, se aplicó el color base directo sobre la imagen del boceto, cada color en carpetas diferentes.
Participating in these challenges has its advantages:
You can gain followers as your work will be more seen product of the use of tags and other cartoonists.
When you have no muse. When you experience cartoonist's block.
Practice new styles and polish your own style.
Get out of your comfort zone.
Meet new artists who are very good at design.
Medibang has brushes that help to recreate shapes, figures, effects, in the background there are some stars, I used the Macaron brush for them, they were perfect, I only had to edit the color. To do this you place them in a folder, then open a new canvas, select the cutout tool and apply the color on them.... Magic.
Then I applied the details on the dress like the pompoms on the shoulders, I created that effect with the Spray brush in various shades. Then I made the eyes very simple keeping some of the style of the challenge image.
In the next step you can see that I applied the same brush on the hair and details that were missing like the ear and the ear collar. Now that I realize, even though the challenge design doesn't have it, I should have put the other one, it would look more normal.
Participar en estos retos tiene sus ventajas:
Puedes ganar seguidores pues tu trabajo será más visto producto del uso de los tags y otros dibujantes.
Cuando no tienes musa. Cuando experimentas el bloqueo del dibujante.
Practicar nuevos estilos y pulir tu propio estilo.
Salir de tu zona de confort.
Conocer nuevos artistas muy buenos en diseño.
Medibang tiene pinceles que ayudan a recrear formas, figuras, efectos, en el fondo hay unas estrellas, usé el pincel Macaron para ellas, quedaron perfectas solo tuve que editarles el color. Para ello las colocas en una carpeta, luego abres un lienzo nuevo, selecciona la herramienta recorte y aplica el color sobre ellas... Magia.
Luego apliqué los detalles en el vestido como las pompas de los hombros, ese efecto lo creé con el pincel Pulverización en varias tonalidades. Luego hice los ojitos muy sencillos manteniendo algo del estilo de la imagen del reto.
El el paso siguiente puedes ver que apliqué el mismo pincel en el cabello y detalles que faltaban como la oreja y el sarcillo. Ahora que me doy cuenta, aunque el diseño del reto no lo tiene, debí colocar el otro, se vería más normal.
You don't know how much fun I had recreating the effects on the snake. I really thought it would be complicated or I don't know if it's like they say "Practice makes perfect" but I observed that there are light tones close to the stars and I placed it with the spray brush, after this the shading and light tones to finally recreate the scales very cartoonish I would say, free style. It seems that the more scribbled the lines were, the better.
The last steps consist of applying shading on the dress (spray brush) and applying skin shading in layers.

No saben lo mucho que me divertí recreando los efectos en la serpiente / víbora. Realmente pensé que sería complicado o no se si es como dicen "La práctica hace al maestro" pero observé que existen tonos luz cercanos a las estrellas y lo coloqué con el pincel pulverización, luego de esto el sombreado y tonos claros para finalmente recrear las escamas muy a lo caricatura diría yo, estilo libre. Al parecer mientras más garabateadas quedaban las líneas, mejor.
Los últimos pasos constan de aplicación de sombreado en el vestido (pincel pulverización) y la aplicación de sombreado de piel por capas.
