Let's establish the strategy of setting micro goals

We all have aspirations in life and to satisfy them we must set goals in an organized and concrete way, that we have the possibilities to carry them out because sometimes we may want to achieve something but we do not have the necessary tools to do it, that is why we must plan well to avoid getting frustrated along the way.

Speaking of getting frustrated, one of the reasons that makes me feel this sensation is when a goal that I set becomes long or eternal to reach, that is why I have set myself the strategy of planning as many micro goals as necessary to achieve my ultimate goal, it has also helped me because it makes me feel good because my mind feels that it is getting achievements and that it is going in the right direction.

There is no doubt that we can all have very ambitious goals and this can generate a lot of anxiety and I can tell you this because this happens to me at every moment, that is why I decided to divide these long goals in parts which I have called small goals or micro goals and I have felt less pressure.

This strategy has given me the possibility of leveling the fear to the accomplishment of more complex tasks and to go step by step with firmness but towards the established goal, it is not bad to set ambitious goals as long as you feel that they do not generate anxiety, otherwise I recommend you to make or divide this goal in sections so that you feel that you are reaching achievements and maybe without realizing it you will reach the general goal set.

Everything we can do to not cause us stress or anxiety we must do it because our mental health must be above anything else, another interesting aspect to highlight is that with micro goals we can make efficient use of our time because sometimes thinking about so many things our mind tends to collapse and it is not the idea, the important thing is that we are as focused as possible on our goal moving forward step by step but with firmness.

This strategy has given me good results since it is applicable in all the activities I do in my daily life, that is why I recommend it so that you do not feel oversaturated and with an exhausted mind, since that can depress us and the idea is to move forward with optimism and with the best possible attitude to achieve the desired success.

Your description sounds like the way project managers will set milestones within a larger project. These often have a target date and a set of tasks that need to be completed before launching into the next phase of the project. In this regard, you are correct to set micro goals.

In addition, David Allen, author of Getting Things Done, also recommends only writing down the next physical step you can take towards completing a task. For example, if your goal is to plant a garden, your next step might be to make a list of everything you need to do the work. After that, perhaps you make a list of things you need to buy. In this way, you only ever worry about what the next step actually is. Eventually, you will have your garden.

Best of luck.
