Re:Zero Season 3 Trailer
Usually, I don't pay attention to teasers. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this particular one regarding Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World. It was not an April Fool's joke. The trailer came out a week before the day.
Don't get too excited, though. It only confirms that the animation is in production. So, the progress could be anywhere in between. As usual, articles from venues such as Anime Next Season aren't particularly helpful. The clickbait headlines don't give you the information stated. Instead, they don't know when the fans will enjoy the release. Based on past release dates, the predication is that we may not actually see it until 2024.
Based on the trailer, the next season will include Arc 5 of the series. I will have to catch up on my light novel readings. This part should cover volumes 15 to 20. I've only finished up to 16 since the end of the second season. I'll have to read the books before a confirmed air date. Each volume of the English translation is around 250 pages.
I dove into the isekai genre during the pandemic when many of us had lots of time on our hands. Re:Zero is one of the first series I bought the source material (Konosuba being another).
As the nature of the genre suggests, it may have started as an escape from reality for me. In time, I learned to appreciate the lore and the entertainment value it brought me.

I haven't seen this season at all but the way you're talking about it and the trailer for the upcoming season, I'm getting a lot of interest to watch it sometime when I'm free. I will definitely check it out and let you know how I feel.
