Mangos my family favorite fruit

avatar

Hello Hive, It's about that time of the Year, where we are about to enter the mango season again and I in particular is happy about it. Mango is one of my family favorite fruit and whenever it's it season we make sure we have enough at home so we can just stroll in and out when we feel like putting something in the mouth. Aside that the fruit is a common one here in the north, it has lots of nutritional value and can be use to prepare different types of delicacy, confectionaries and a lot more. One of the major use of Mangos, is that it can be use to prepare home-made fresh juice and smoothy when it very ripe.

Because of our love for Mango, we planted it outside of the house and it has been there for 12 years but it only started to bear it fruit 4years ago such a long time right but it only takes patience and today we are enjoying the fruit. But I was made to understand that the Agric mango only takes four years from the time of planting before it starts to produce fruits.

I did not just settled with the knowledge I have about mango I also did a little research to know more about it for my self knowledge. Knowing about a particular thing gives more insight about it. Mango "mangifera indica" botanically, is called the king of fruits in some places. It's a drupe or stone fruit which means it has a big seed in the Middle.

People all over the world grow mango but it is a native to India and southeast Asia, and people have cultivated it for over 4000 years. There are about a 100 types of mango each with it characteristics, taste, size, shape and color. Mango is low in calories but high in nutrients particularly vitamin c, which aids immunity, iron absorption, and cell growth and repair.

Mango helps prevent diabetes, support heart health and some polyphenols found in the fruit also lower the risk of certain cancer.

Note: as long as you eat fresh mango in moderate amounts, it will likely reduce the risk of developing diabetes, helps the blood vessels relax, promoting lower blood pressure level. Keep it in mind that fresh mango does not contain as much sugar as dried mango does.

This is the first ripe mango i spotted from the tree.

Homemade Mango juice is one of the simplest juice to prepare natural and nutritiously. all you need to do is to seperate the fruit from it seed with the help of a knife, get your juice blender and blend till its smooth. You can either sieve it with a filter or not which ever you desire. Refrigerate or you either put your ice inside the juice directly.

Thank you for your time, peace 🕊️

Mangos are such amazing trees. I like that you added some pictures of mango juice too. When I lived in the tropics I was always impressed by the abundance of this tree and especially loved the fruit. I am glad that mangos grow so well where you live too!
