| En esta oportunidad tuve la suerte de sentarme a conversar con un equipo de lujo: la compositora Yasmely Ilarraza, el maestro del arpa Antonio “Nano” Rodríguez y el cantantador Raúl Bolívar. Nos reunimos para hablar de lo que están cocinando, un proyecto discográfico que busca impulsar a Raúl como uno de los nuevos valores de nuestra música central. Raúl es un joven del campo, de esa gente sencilla y franca que te cuenta las cosas con el corazón. Nos estuvo contando con mucho orgullo que es oriundo de la parte baja del Cerro Platillón, esa imponente montaña de 1900 metros de altura en el estado Guárico. Raúl nos confesó que se metió de lleno en este camino del joropo central gracias al apoyo de la poeta y profesora, y se sentía feliz porque en este trabajo lo acompaña nada menos que la Dinastía Rodríguez (los hermanos Roberto, Raúl y Félix "JJ" Rodríguez), grandes ligas de las 35 cuerdas del arpa aragüeña de Carabobo y tuyera. | On this occasion, I was lucky enough to sit down and talk with a top-notch team: composer Yasmely Ilarraza, harp master Antonio "Nano" Rodríguez, and singer Raúl Bolívar. We met to talk about what they are cooking up, a recording project that seeks to showcase Raúl as one of the new talents of our central music. Raúl is a young man from the countryside, one of those simple and frank people who talk to you from the heart. He proudly shared that he comes from the lower part of Cerro Platillón, that imposing 1900-meter-high mountain in Guárico state. Raúl confessed that he dived completely into this world of central joropo thanks to the support of the poet and teacher, and he felt happy because he is accompanied in this work by none other than the Rodríguez Dynasty (the brothers Roberto, Raúl, and Félix "JJ" Rodríguez), major leaguers of the 35 strings of the Aragüeña harp from Carabobo and Tuy. |

| Yasmely nos contó una historia buenísima de cómo nació esta unión. Resulta que fue por las redes sociales y pasaron un tiempo hablando, componiendo y compartiendo géneros musicales en la distancia. Ella vio el buen talento de Raúl y supo que valía la pena apoyarlo y proyectarlo, así que planificaron todo para entregarle sus temas. Es increíble cómo la tecnología nos ayuda a sumar un granito de arena a nuestra hermosa cultura. De hecho, en plena entrevista nos pusimos a reflexionar sobre lo mágico que es el joropo central. Recordábamos que hasta los alemanes han venido a hacer documentales (como el del maestro Alfredo V. Sánchez), porque no se explican cómo apenas dos personas —el del arpa y el de las maracas con el canto— pueden alegrar y levantar a tanta gente a bailar. Por eso es tan importante mantener vivas nuestras raíces y nuestra esencia. | Yasmely told us a great story about how this union was born. It turns out it happened through social media, and they spent some time talking, composing, and sharing musical genres from a distance. She saw Raúl's great talent and knew it was worth supporting and promoting him, so they planned everything to deliver her songs. It is amazing how technology helps us contribute to our beautiful culture. In fact, right in the middle of the interview, we began to reflect on how magical central joropo is. We remembered that even Germans have come to make documentaries (like the one by master Alfredo V. Sánchez) because they cannot understand how just two people—the harpist and the one playing maracas and singing—can bring joy and make so many people get up and dance. That is why it is so important to keep our roots and our essence alive. |

| Por su parte, el maestro Nano Rodríguez, que como buen arpista prefiere hablar a través de las cuerdas y no es muy de dar discursos públicos, nos regaló unas palabras muy sinceras y sentidas: nos dijo que está ahí, en la lucha diaria, en la pelea, con la mejor intención de apoyar a su amigo Raúl Bolívar. Mientras grabábamos, se escuchaba fuerte el sonido de la brisa de fondo, dándole un toque súper auténtico y natural al momento. Ya que el invierno está seco y con fuertes vientos. Para mí fue un gusto tremendo moderar este encuentro y ver en primera fila la humildad de estos grandes artistas. Al final de la entrevista, nos fuimos directo a escuchar la música en vivo para sentir el verdadero Joropo central. | For his part, master Nano Rodríguez, who like a good harpist prefers to speak through the strings and is not one for public speeches, gave us some very sincere and heartfelt words: he told us that he is there, in the daily struggle, in the fight, with the best intention to support his friend Raúl Bolívar. While we were recording, the strong sound of the breeze could be heard in the background, giving a super authentic and natural touch to the moment, since the winter is dry and with strong winds.
