How I Lost Over $1.8Million Dollars A Few Days To 2022 - Learning The Hard Way 😭😭😭

I will try and make this post as straight to the point as possible because my hands are tired as much as words fail me, making me to gaze into the thin space of- HOW DID IT HAPPEN? Series of questions.

For someone like Elon Musk who's tax as an individual for 2021 is expected to be worth over $11B dollars, losing a 'paltry' sum less than $3Million USD may not cry out for SOS. But I'm not Elon Musk and that amount is quite huge that's why I had to shout my ribs out.

That Brings The Question - How Did It Happen?

Well before I go into more details, I will like to say thanks for making it this far on the post. For one thing, I personally didn't lose such amount because I can't lose what I don't have in the first place. Granted I did lose some funds that would have changed my life for better as described on this post about service to Fatherland. Anyway, that's by the way.

Talking about the individual that lost about $2Million dollars, according to decrypt.co

Todd Kramer, who runs the Ross+Kramer art gallery in New York, tweeted that he had clicked on a link that appeared to be a genuine NFT dapp (decentralized application). But it turned out to be a phishing attack—and 16 of his NFTs were stolen. “I been hacked,” he wrote. “All my apes gone.”

My heart really goes to him. However, some persons are not happy about the aftermath of such theft because opensea had the account frozen. Some of the people frowned at the ability of opensea to do such, lamenting that it's against what decentralization stands for, with no or little consideration to the victim.

Whereas the original owner admitted to being a bit sloppy and confessed he's learned his lessons and that, 'Hardware Wallets Are The Best' storage medium, there's still much to be done in the security of the Crypto Space. How can one mitigate these cyber attacks? Is Opensea wrong to freeze the stolen NFT assests?

We've made it this far together in 2021 calendar year, in less than 3hours from now, it will be 2022 where I am. This is mainly my last post on Hive for the year and I'm glad it's on @leofinance. May we see a better of the coming days as we endeavor to keep safe healthwise, investment wise, relationship wise and all the WISE that leads to a better world.

Oops. I will take that as a compliment.

That's the idea of it, but try and stay safe over your activities online too.

Have a great weekend and thanks for coming around
