Hello great minds once again I present to you one of my session at my homesteading farmland just at my backyard were I grow my garden of water leaf plants.

The water leaf is vegetable plant that is often used in preparation of soups like edikikong, Afang soup, pumpkin soups and other native delicacies here in Nigeria especially the south south regions, it is very rich in vitamins and minerals, calcium, iron used to compliment soups when cooking, with other greeny vegetables for food.

Waterleafs plant has fleshy soft green leaves and a pink flowers that often adds to it beauty it can usually grow to height of 30-100cm and have enough water content in it leaves this the name..

When in their blooming season they can really become a beautiful sight to behold especially when they grow in clusters

CULTIVATION AND SOIL PREPARATION
Waterleafs plant is not difficult to cultivate as they can even grow on their own without any care but when you want to make them for personal use you have to prepare a special place for them call the beds and just at the backyard of your house or at the corner or anywhere you choose as far as they are not in a water log area or pest invested grounds..

Preparing the soil
All the process of planting the waterleaf is just easy first of all set out a portion of the land as at my backyard then I tilt the grounds while doing this I add manure to the soil, what I used for manuring as my poultry excrete spread them evenly then water the grounds to make them soft for planting and for the water leaf to easily germinate once planted

After this I don't plant immediately I have to wait for a day to let the manure get into the soil this will help the plant grow effectively

MAKING THE BEDS
Here is were the stem will be planted, it is not very necessary tho but it gives the plant a level of comfort when grown on beds another reason is to avoid water log around or erosion during the rainy season thus you must elevate the planting area by making beds for them, also by build hedges around, in my case I had to make beds and also fences around this also serves as a pest control for them to avoid the goats or any other insect or animals eating the plants

Planting The Stem
Now I just had to cut the stem that are matured about 3-4cm long make sure the grounds are watered then insert them to earth close by but with just small space between them now once I'm done I just have to water them every morning and evening especially during the dry seasons, but during the rainy season that can be left to the rains to do the watering for you....

PEST CONTROL AND CARE
For effect growth it must be planted on a bed with hedges around them for protection from other pest and animals that might come into destroy the plant

Watering is done very early in the morning and late in the evening avoid watering when the sun is up, it could hamper growth

Weeding should be done on a regular basis say per week cause if allow could compete for nutrients with the plant

When the flowers are blooming I plug them off to allow for effective growth cause with the flowers they will no do so well.

A PASSIVE SOURCE OF INCOME
DOWN here it is also resourceful in terms of bring in some cash regularly as they don't necessarily have a particular season, tho they bloom especially during the rainy season.

Thanks you all for reading thru and never backing out
MUCH APPRECIATED 💯👍💞
