Ensayo de graduación con mis compañeros [Esp/Eng]

Hola, ¿qué tal, amigos, cómo están? Porque aquí todo muy bien, gracias a Dios. Hoy fue un día bastante largo para mí y, aparte de que fue largo, también fue superestresante, pero quería contarte todo hoy para no darle larga; espero que por allá también esté sumamente bien.

Hi there, how are you all doing? Everything’s going really well here, thank goodness. Today was quite a long day for me and, as well as being long, it was also really stressful, but I wanted to tell you all about it today so I don’t drag it out; I hope things are going really well over there too.

El día de hoy tenía que ir a la universidad a buscar todo referente a mi acto de grado, es decir, la estola, el birrete y los pases de los acompañantes; la cuestión es que justamente por aquí, por mi casa, se cayó una fase y llevábamos exactamente 3 días sin luz y estoy sin haber dormido bien y aparte me sentía supercansada; no se sentía esa emoción que yo pensaba que se podía sentir, ya que iba algo especial, porque reconozco que estaba. Cansada, aparte de eso, salí supertemprano. Temprano al hotel y resulta que no pasaba carro y llegué supermegatarte; por suerte, la vez pasada fui al protocolo y sabía cómo se tenía que hacer todo; aunque llegué tarde, sabía lo que estaba explicando.

Today I had to go to university to collect everything for my graduation ceremony – the sash, the cap and the guest passes; the thing is, right here, near my house, a power line came down and we’d been without electricity for exactly three days, and I hadn’t slept properly; on top of that, I felt absolutely exhausted; I didn’t feel that excitement I thought I might feel, given that it was a special occasion, because I admit I was tired. Apart from that, I left really early. I set off for the hotel early, but there was no transport available, so I arrived absolutely ages late; luckily, I’d been through the protocol last time and knew how everything had to be done; even though I was late, I knew what I was talking about.

La verdad es que me llenó bastante satisfacción ver todas mis metas cumplidas cuando me entregaron todo y ver toda la emoción que tenían todos mis compañeros en ese momento, de verdad, que es un momento bastante bonito. Lo único que no me gustó es que me estaban muriendo de hambre, literalmente, porque la reunión la planificaron a las 12:30 del mediodía y ya estábamos todos muertos de hambre.

Entonces, lo peor de todo es que cuando llego al lugar, resulta que en el lugar tampoco había luz y nos tocó calarnos el calor, más del que ya me estaba dando. En dicha reunión nos enseñaron todo lo que iba a ser el protocolo, hicimos también las prácticas y nos entregaron formalmente todo lo que necesitábamos para ese día, así que digamos que ya estoy lista. The truth is, it gave me a real sense of satisfaction to see all my goals achieved when they handed everything over to me, and to see how excited all my colleagues were at that moment – honestly, it was a really lovely moment. The only thing I didn’t like was that we were literally starving, because the meeting was scheduled for 12.30 pm and we were all already ravenous.

Then, worst of all, when I got there, it turned out there was no electricity either, so we had to put up with the heat, which was even more than I was already feeling. At that meeting, they explained the whole protocol to us, we did some practice runs, and they formally handed over everything we needed for the day, so let’s just say I’m all set.
