Aprovechando los retazos de tela para colitas [Esp/Eng]

Holis, ¿qué tal, gente bonita, cómo están? Por aquí, gracias a Dios, mejorando, aunque tomando mucho líquido porque muy poco me apetece lo sólido, pero allí vamos, poco a poco mejorando. Espero que por su parte estén muy bien y que, si no, tengan la certeza como yo de que todo es pasajero y que va a mejorar.

Saben que ayer luego de hacer el gorrito de satin me quede pensando que podía hacer con los retazos de tela que quedaban y la verdad como eran cortos y pequeños pedasos me puse manos a la obra a cortar tiras, debo decir que antes vi un video donde la chica los hace con un molde como el de la imagen de 4 pulgadas por 14 pulgadad y la verdad es que yo desde un principio lo vi pequeño pero no le preste mucha atención, corte lo que pude asi pero habian unas tiras que me daban para hacerlas mas largas entonces decidi dejarlas largas a ver que tal me podían salir.

You know, yesterday, after making the satin bonnet, I was left wondering what I could do with the leftover fabric scraps, and to be honest, as they were short and small pieces, I got straight to work cutting strips. I must say that I’d seen a video earlier where the girl makes them using a template like the one in the picture, 4 inches by 14 inches, and to be honest, I thought it looked a bit small from the start but didn’t pay much attention to it. I cut what I could like that, but there were some strips that were long enough to make them longer, so I decided to leave them long to see how they’d turn out.

Me sorprendió la cantidad de cositas que se pueden hacer con esas colitas, así que dije que pronto haría otro modelo, pero esta vez lo que hice fue unir por el lado que yo lo llamo seco y dejar el lado de satén por dentro y coser una línea recta; ojo, es esencial dejar una pequeña abertura antes de culminar la costura.

I was surprised by just how many little things you can make with those little tails, so I said I’d make another design soon, but this time what I did was join them along what I call the ‘dry’ side, leaving the satin side on the inside, and sew a straight line; mind you, it’s essential to leave a small opening before finishing the seam.

Una vez que ya lo tenemos listo lo que vamos hacer el darle la vuelta a nuestra costura y por la avertura que dejamos vamos a introducir ambas puntas y a coser, ojo aqui es importante no pegar las puntas sino coserlas por el medio porque imaginense sino como vamos a pasar el elastico.

Once we’ve got that sorted, we’re going to turn the seam inside out and, through the opening we left, we’ll thread both ends through and sew them together. Be careful here: it’s important not to pin the ends together but to sew them in the middle, because otherwise how on earth are we going to thread the elastic through?

Cuando ya tenemos nuestra costura terminada ya basicamente tenemos todo, solo resta introducir el elastico con un ganchito por dentro de la colita asegurarlo y luego cerrar la pequeña avertura y lo tenemos listo, como pueden ver son dos tamaños distintos que fueron parte de mis retazos del gorrito del día de ayer que quize aprovechar para otra cosa, estas colitas o tambien conocidos como Scrunchies son muy buenas para que al momento de sujetar no dejan marca en tu cabello, y la verdad es que me encantaron, ¡Saludos!

Once we’ve finished sewing, we’ve basically got everything sorted; all that’s left is to thread the elastic through a little hook inside the scrunchie, secure it, and then close the small opening, and it’s ready. As you can see, there are two different sizes, which were part of the scraps from yesterday’s hat that I wanted to use for something else. These scrunchies are great because they don’t leave marks in your hair when you tie it up, and to be honest, I absolutely loved them, Cheers!
